CU Scholarships :

We know families turn to Chandigarh University for our rigorous academics and focus on values. But we also know you may need help figuring out what kind of financial support you can depend on.

The University offers up to 100% scholarship for the students belonging to SC/ST categories under the Government scheme.

CU Sports Based Scholarships/ Free ships :
The following scholarship schemes for the sports persons of various categories have been formulated.
‘O’ Category- Special Scholarship, free stay, free food & 100% tuition fee concession
‘A’ Category – free stay, free food & 100% tuition fee Concession
‘B’ Category – free stay + 100% tuition fee Concession
‘C’ Category – 15% tuition fee Concession only

‘O’ category :
** First three positions in International Level tournament conducted by Authorized Body.

‘A’ category :
** Represented India after approval of National Sports Federation and SAI/IOA in championship scheduled as part of the annual international Sports Calendar
** Participated as a member of Combined University team at International level
** First three positions in Senior & Junior National Championship
** First three positions in All India Inter University Championship
** First three positions National School Games (in Athletics)

‘B’ Category :
** National School Games National Women Sports Festival Youth National Championship Zonal Inter University Tournament

‘C’ Category :
** Senior State Championship State School Games

‘D’ Category :
Irrespective of above category, any student who get First three positions in All India/ Zonal Inter University will be eligible for A/B Category Benefit in the next Session.

Sports quota for admission :

** Only 2% of total seats in each course/discipline may be offered for sports admission.
** Scholarship offered only after due scrutiny of Certificates and trials.
** The Student admitted under the above scheme shall have to maintain their level of performance, failing which the incentives given shall stand withdrawn.
** Individual events will be preferred for admission.
** Concession will be given for a Semester.
** Concession will be revised after a Semester as per performance level.

Selection procedure for Sports Quota admission :

** List of Games/Events for Sports Scholarship will be decided by Sports department.
** Gradation of certificates is required.
** Last two years performance Certificates only will be consider, for above mentioned concession.
** Final decision for admission will be taken by Director Sports.

Withdrawal of incentive and scholarship
** If a student do not maintain the performance level, all incentive and Scholarship shall stand withdrawn.
** Irregular training will not be allowed, daily attendance of student in sports activity is mandatory.
** If student not fulfill the eligibility of AIU.
** Misbehavior and any other indiscipline activity.

CU Scholarships for Defense Personnel :
As a tribute to our Armed forces, the University has devised a unique scheme for reserving seats in all courses for the wards of Indian Defense personnel of different categories. Wards admitted under the aforementioned scheme will also be given tuition fee waiver.

CU Scholarship for Outstanding Students :
The main objective of this policy is to encourage good and brilliant students to acquire higher education at an affordable fee and be an active member of the society in general and their families in particular.
