** The L&T Hydrocarbon – IIT Scholarship is part of the Company’s initiatives to extend interface with India’s premier academic institutes – The Indian Institute of Technology Madras.

** The L&T Hydrocarbon – IIT Scholarship scheme will open up exciting careers with Hydrocarbon & Shipbuilding Industry. On offer are opportunities to learn to execute complex projects with new technologies, including the challenging deep-water area worldwide.

Objectives:
** To build a Talent Pool in the area of Offshore Technology to meet the growing requirement for specialists in this area in the Hydrocarbon & Shipbuilding Industry
** To help engineers develop an in-depth knowledge and skills in Offshore Technology
** To provide an opportunity to young talented engineers to acquire the coveted PG qualification from one of the premier institutes in the country

The M.Tech Programme:
** The Programme, which will be of two years duration spread over four semesters, will conform to the standard M.Tech Programme announced by IIT Madras.

** Executives successfully completing the Programme (both in terms of attendance as well as performance in assignments, tests, examinations, project work etc) will be awarded a Post Graduate Degree in Engineering titled Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Offshore Technology by IIT Madras, which is equivalent to the M.Tech Degree offered to full time students of the institute.

Scholarship:
The Tuition fees and stipend of Rs.12,400/- per month will be paid by L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering Ltd. for the entire duration of the course.

Admission procedure for GATE qualified Indian Nationals:
The M.Tech in Offshore Technology course is new program starting from 2016 sponsored by L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering (LTHE) for manpower development in offshore and shipbuilding sector. Total of 10 seats are available under this scheme and is fully supported by LTHE and a academic fees payable to IIT Madras and monthly stipend paid to students.

** Candidates should have obtained I class (or not less than 60% marks / 6.5 CGPA; not less than 55% marks/ 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST candidates) in their qualifying examinations in B.Tech / B.E. equivalent program in Civil / Structural / Mechanical Engineering.

** Admission to the program is based on valid GATE score (2015 or 2016) and marks obtained in the interview. 70% weightage is given to GATE score and 30% weightage is given to interview marks.
