What is Doon School Scholarship Entrance Exam?

The Doon School Scholarship Examination (DSSE) is an annual entrance exam conducted by The Doon School (an all-boys boarding school in Dehradun). The scholarship exam is open to male students entering Classes 7 or 8 whose families might struggle to pay the school fees. Selected meritorious male candidates will stand a chance to study at The Doon School on a scholarship. The Scholarship Committee will determine the amount of financial aid based on the documents provided by the parents’ of the applicants. Last date of application is 15th April 2025.

Eligibility of Doon School Scholarship Entrance Exam

To be eligible, an applicant must:-
** be a male student
** be an Indian national
** be between the ages of 11 to 13 years old as on 30th September 2025
** be entering Class 7 or 8 in the upcoming academic year

Benefits of Doon School Scholarship Entrance Exam

Selected students will stand a chance to study at the Doon School. In addition, scholarships awarded will range from covering 20% to 120% of educational costs.

Why should my son/ward appear for the DSSE?
A chance to study at The Doon School on a scholarship in case you are a meritorious candidate The amount of financial aid will be determined by the Scholarship committee based on the documents provided by the parents.

English, Mathematics, Case Study & Reasoning

Will the exams be conducted online or offline?
Online, MCQ Format Exam

What is the duration of each exam?
45 mins each subject

What is the Registration Fee for DSSE?
Rs.100/-

Is DSSE the final exam to get selected for the Scholarship?
No. This is the preliminary exam to get qualified for the main Admissions Test which will take place on 10th August 2025.

If the candidate was registered earlier and the Registration Fee for Admissions Test is paid, can that student still appear for the DSSE?
Yes, however, your registration fee will not be refunded.

How much Scholarship will be offered if my ward qualifies the DSSE ?
Your son will be eligible for a Scholarship anywhere around 20% to 120%. The Doon School Scholarship Committee reserves the right to the award of all need and merit based scholarships.

What happens after a student has cleared the DSSE?
** Once selected, the candidate is then eligible to appear for the main Doon School Admissions Test
** Although, the parents do not have to pay The Doon School Registration Fees for the main Admissions test, they still have to bear any expense that me be needed for them to travel to the nearest examination centre

** Online Screening Examination Date: 27th April 2025
** Admissions Test: 10th August 2025
