What is Meghalaya Free Studentship Scholarship?

Free Studentship Scholarship for Scheduled Tribe/Scheduled Caste 2024-25 is sponsored by Directorate Of Higher And Technical Education Meghalaya. Students who are permanent residents in the State of Meghalaya can eligible to apply for Scholarship. Parents Annual income not exceeding Rs. 2.50 Lakhs. Last Date of Scholarship is 30th November 2024.

Types of Meghalaya Scholarship

Applications (Fresh and Renewal) are invited from students who are permanent residents in the State of Meghalaya for the year 2024-25 for the following schemes
1. Free Studentship Scholarship for Scheduled Tribe/Scheduled Caste for students who are pursuing higher studies in different courses from class XI to Post-Graduation. Students who failed in the previous year and also those students who are not eligible to apply for Post Matric Scholarship for Schedule Tribe/Schedule Caste on account of their parents income exceeding 2.50 Lakhs p.a. are eligible to apply for this Scholarship.

2. Book Grant Scholarship for Scheduled Tribe students who are pursuing higher studies in different courses from class XI to Post-Graduation (excluding Vocational, Engineering, Medical & Paramedical courses) and who secured 60% marks and above during previous year examination are eligible to apply for the Book Grant Scholarship.

3. Merit Scholarship for Tribal and General Students of Meghalaya who have secured very high percentage of marks in Class X, XII (MBOSE, AIICSE & CBSE) and Degree Examination 2024 for a specific number of Merit Scholarships to be chosen Merit Wise.

4. Post Graduate Research Scholarship for the students of Meghalaya (SC/ST and General) who are doing research courses in University or Research Institutions for M.Phil or Ph.D and who secured 50% marks and above at Master Degree level are eligible to apply for the Scholarship.

5. Border Areas Scholarship from students belonging to SC/ST categories of the State of Meghalaya who are pursuing Post Matric Studies within and outside the State during the current year 2024-2025.

Instructions for Applications

** Students must provide a functional and valid email address of their own since all notifications and correspondence will be via. email. Students may download the mobile app “Sandes” from Google Play Store.
** The number used for registration in the app should also be filled in the online application forms, so as to receive notifications in the Sandes app.
** Uploading of scanned copy of aadhaar card of the applicants is mandatory.
** Students must carefully check their online application details for any errors before finally submitting their forms.
** All documents to be uploaded should be correctly uploaded in the fields provided. Once Final Submit button is clicked, the Directorate will not be held responsible for any errors on the part of the applicant.
** While submitting an application online, student is held solely responsible for any information provided therein. Any student found providing false information will have is application cancelled immediately.
** Students must ensure that all details provided in the form are correct and the uploaded scanned copies of the documents to be clearly visible. If there is any discrepancy in the details/documents provided, his/her application will be cancelled.
** Online application along with all enclosures completed in all respects should be submitted through the online portal within the stipulated date.
** Submission of hard copy is not required.
** The last date of submission of online applications is on 30th November 2024 after which the portal will automatically close.

What to do when you forget your password?
** If you have forgotten your password and need to reset it, please click on the “Forgot Password?” link located on the bottom of the login page of our website. This will take you to a page where you can enter the email address associated with your account.
** Once you have entered your email address, you will be prompted to complete a captcha. After completing the verification step, you should receive an email from our website with instructions on how to reset your password.
** The email should contain a link that will direct you to a page on our website where you can enter a new password. Please ensure that you choose a strong and secure password that you will be able to remember. Once you have entered your new password and confirmed it, you should be able to log in to your account using your new credentials.

What do you mean by Draft Mode application?
** While filling the application form, the user has the option to fill up the application partially and save it as draft. A draft reference number will be generated. The same application can be continued filling up by going to Track application status ->View incomplete applications
Note: Draft reference number doesn’t necessarily mean that you have submitted the application.

What do we do if we receive an SMS against an application for edit?
If an application is sent back to the applicant for some corrections, the citizen can go to track application status and click on the link Waiting for applicant’s response and fill up the required fields allowed for updation or for resubmission of enclosures.

What happens when our payments are made but not redirected to the portal?
In that case we need to click on revalidate payment. If the status of payment is N then the applicant has to reinitiate payments
