What is BCDD Kerala Overseas Scholarship?

Overseas Scholarship 2024-25 is sponsored by Backward Classes Development Department BCDD Kerala. Scholarship OBC Students studying for Post Graduate and above courses in the highly rated University abroad. Which provides scholarships to selected OBC students for pursuing Master level courses and PhD abroad in specified fields of study, ie, Engineering, Management, Pure sciences, Agricultural sciences, Medicine, Social Science and law. Annual Income Limit 6 lakh. Last Date of Scholarship is 20th September 2024.

Amount of Overseas Scholarship

The Scholarship will be provided to 20 selected OBC candidates for pursuing Master Level courses in Engineering, Management, Pure Sciences, Agricultural Sciences and Medicine. The financial assistance subject to a maximum of Rs. 10 lakhs will be provided over a period of 3 years or the completion of the course which ever is less.

Eligibility Criteria of Overseas Scholarship

Minimum Qualifications:
** Overseas scholarship is a scheme that provides opportunities to study selected Foreign Universities in Medical/ Engineering/ Pure Science/ Agriculture/ Management / Law / Social Science Courses.
** Candidates should pass in first class or not below 60% marks or graduates in the same grade.
** Priority is given to those who have experience in any institution with above said qualification. The higher study should be on the same subject of graduation.
** First Class or 60(sixty)% marks or equivalent grade in relevant Bachelors Degree. Preference would be given to candidates with work experience especially to those who are on lien with their existing post and employer.
** Overseas Scholarship scheme providing scholarships to students from OBC categories to pursue higher studies (PG, PhD) in courses of Medicine, Engineering, Pure Science, Agriculture, Management, Social Science and Law in selected foreign universities.

Age Limit :- Below 40 years as on the 1st day of the month inviting applications.
Annual Income:- Annual income of the family of the beneficiary shall not exceed Rs. 6 lakhs.

Components of the scholarship:- Air charges from India to the nearest place to the educational institutions and back to India, by economy class and shortest route in arrangements with the national carrier, Actual course fees, Maintenance allowance, (subject to a maximum of 14,000 US Dollars).

Selection Committee :- A Committee consisting of the Principal Secretary (BCDD)as the Chairman, Director, BCDD, and a nominee of Higher Education Department of the rank of Additional Secretary will complete the process of selection.
