What is Hindu College Raj Bhargava Foundation Scholarships?
Raj Bhargava Foundation Scholarships RBFS 2024-25 is sponsored by Hindu College. Undergraduate students who may be studying either History or other Social Science Subjects such as Political Science, Sociology, Economics, Philosophy and BA Programme are eligible to this Scholarship. The Scholarship amount is Rs. 75,000/- each. The amount is put to use as a Corpus Fund in order to give grants to meritorious students every year. Last Date of Scholarship is 3rd September 2024.
Award of Raj Bhargava Foundation Scholarships
** The Scholarships are to be awarded to undergraduate students who may be studying either History or other Social Science Subjects such as Political Science, Sociology, Economics, Philosophy and BA Programme.
** As a part of the degree course, Two scholarships in History and Two scholarships in other Social Science Subjects, worth Rs 75,000 each will be given every year.
** In addition to the Annual Scholarships, a Tablet worth Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 12,000 will also be given to each of the recipients from the first year by the College for personal use.
** The selection of students for the receipt of grants will be based purely on Merit.
** For the selection of recipients, the College will conduct a written Merit Assessment Test (MAT) for the interested students.
** The shortlisted students selected on the basis of the result of the Merit Assessment Test will have a personal interaction with a Screening Committee comprising of external experts, alumni, staff members and the Principal.

Rules of Raj Bhargava Foundation Scholarships
The details of the Scholarships are as under –
1. Four Scholarships of one year duration each will be awarded to four students. Two scholarship are for History and two scholarships cover other Social Sciences subjects – Political Science, Sociology, Economics, Philosophy and B.A. Programme.
2. The Scholarship amount is Rs. 75,000/- each.
3. In addition, a Tablet worth Rs. 12,000/- is given to each of the four recipients.
4. The Selection Process involves two steps in the order given – 1) Written Merit Assessment Test (MAT); and 2) Interaction of the shortlisted candidates with a Selection Committee.
5. The Interaction Selection Committee comprises of External Experts, Alumni, Staff Members and the Principal.
6. To provide guidance through the duration of the award a faculty member shall be assigned as Mentor for each of the awardees.
7. The Scholarships renewal will be based on Continuous Assessment in subsequent years, on academic excellence and good behaviour/conduct of the Awardee.
8. Every interested student is required to register through the following link latest by 03.09.2024 up to 5:00 p.m.
9. The Committee will select deserving students from History and from any other listed disciplines of social sciences
10. Under normal circumstances the students who receive the grant from the Raj Bhargava Foundation in the first year will continue to receive it in the subsequent years of their undergraduate course, subject to their continued excellence in Academics and their willingness to continue to receive the grant.
11. The Screening Committee will also review the cases of each of the recipients and record its decision.
12. As desired by the Scholarships’ donor, the awardees shall be assigned a faculty member as Mentor to interact and provide guidance through the term of the award.
13. The recipient’s continued good behaviour in the College will be a necessary condition for the continuation of grant from the Raj Bhargava Foundation. If at any time during the course of studies the recipient’s behaviour is in violation of the conduct rules of the College, the grant shall get discontinued for the subsequent years.
14. The general announcement regarding the Raj Bhargava Foundation Scholarships has been made today.
15. The Merit Assessment Test date is also announced.
16. The shortlisted candidates of MAT will be required to go through the process of Interaction with the Screening Committee.
17. The declaration of the final result will follow.
