What is CCRAS PG-STAR Scholarship?

“SCHEME FOR TRAINING IN AYURVEDA RESEARCH FOR PG SCHOLARS (PG-STAR)” is sponsored by Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS). PG-STAR is open to Indian nationals only. The applicant should be an Indian citizen. The Scheme aims at facilitating Ayurveda students pursuing their MD/MS (Ayurveda) by providing financial and technical support. Last Date of Scholarship is 5th June 2024.

Eligibility of PG-STAR Scholarship

** Ayurveda medical post-graduates of admission batch 2022-23 who have completed their 1st year MD/MS course work (from NCISM/GoI recognized Colleges/Institutes) and who wish to avail CCRAS’s financial assistance for pursuing their research project.

** PG – STAR is open to Indian nationals only. The applicant should be an Indian citizen.
** Number of Scholarships: 100 per year
** Amount of Scholarship- Up to Rs 1,00,000/- per scholar

How to Apply for PG-STAR Scholarship?

** This programme exclusively accepts online applications and does not entertain hard copy submissions. If there is any difficulty encountered while completing the application, scholars can contact the Council for the assistance.

** Interested Ayurveda post-graduates who have completed their first-year coursework and had their synopsis approved by their universities are invited to register online for the submission of applications and proposals for the PG – STAR session 02 for the MD/MS admission batch 2022-23.

** The corresponding guides must register simultaneously to ensure the completion of the registration process. Only 2 students are allowed to work under one recognized Guide for this scheme.

** The research proposals nominated by the head of institution following an internal scrutiny mechanism of the college/institute on the basis of merit as well as the need of financial support required for the research adhering to the 10 percent of total annual PG sanctioned strength of the institute from the pool of registered students with their guides should be intimated to the Council in the prescribed format of Recommendation Letter (Annexure II) as per the scheme latest by 05/06/2024 up to 5:00 pm through e-mail (pgstar.ayu[AT]ccras.nic.in) only.

** The recommendation letter comprising the list of selected students from the institute/college should be duly attested and forwarded by the Head of Institution. Proposals for the PG – STAR scheme can only be submitted by those students nominated by the college authority through PG – STAR portal within stipulated period of time.

** The research proposal must be in the specified format as per the scheme otherwise will be deemed rejected. The Council bears no responsibility for inaccuracies or incorrect information in the proposals resulting into rejection of application, and any request regarding this matter will not be entertained. The students are advised to go through the scheme carefully before online submissions.

FAQ on PG-STAR Scholarship

1. What is CCRAS PG – STAR?
CCRAS has initiated “Scheme for Training in Ayurveda Research for PG Scholars” (CCRAS-PG STAR) for Ayurveda Post Graduate Scholars pursuing their MD/MS(Ayu) courses.

2. What is the objective of CCRAS PG – STAR?

CCRAS PG – STAR aims at promoting good quality research in Ayurveda students pursuing post-graduation courses as well as to improve visibility and accessibility of their research work to larger research audience.

3. What are the priority research areas for grant of CCRAS PG – STAR Scholarship?
The priority areas are Clinical research, Pharmacological research, Pharmaceutical research / Drug Standardization / Techno innovation, Literary Research and Fundamental Research.

4. What is the amount of fund after grant of CCRAS PG – STAR Scholarship?

It is up to Rs 1,00,000/- per scholar

5. How many Scholarships will be granted per year?

Per year 100 Scholarships to the eligible applicants will be granted.

6. What are eligibility criteria for applying for CCRAS PG – STAR?

7. Head of the Institute can recommend how many Research plan/approved synopsis?
The head of the institute may recommend and nominate maximum 10 percent or rounded up to near higher decimal of the total sanctioned PG strength of the institute of that admission batch for consideration.

8. How many students are allowed to submit their research proposal in CCRAS PG -STAR under the guidance of one guide/mentor?
Only two students are allowed to submit their research proposal under one guide.

9. Can I have a co-guide out of the institution for project proposal?

It is already notified that approved synopsis from respective University are considered in CCRAS PG – STAR. Thus, the approval for guide/co-guide is considered to be given as per university norms.

10. Where may I get my CCRAS PG – STAR ID?
The CCRAS PG – STAR ID Is generated after successful registration.
