What is ICCR Lata Mangeshkar Dance & Music Scholarship?

ICCR has announced 100 Scholarship slots globally under the Lata Mangeshkar Dance & Music Scholarship Scheme for pursing study of Indian Culture such as dance, music, theatre, performing art, sculpture, Indian languages, Indian cuisine, etc. for the academic year 2024-25. Earlier the applications were invited directly on ICCR’s A2A Scholarship Portal http://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in. It is compulsory for all ICCR scholarship students to procure medical insurance policy with minimum sum assured for Indian Rupees 500,000/- per annum. Last Date of Scholarship 30th April 2024.

Important Dates of Lata Mangeshkar Dance & Music Scholarship

The tentative timeline would be as under:
Opening of portal for inviting applications from interested candidates 20 February 2024
Last date of application to be submitted by students 30 April 2024
Last date of universities to inform the decision 31 May 2024
Last date for allocating scholarship 30 June 2024
Last date for acceptance by students 15 July 2024

** The above timeline is tentative as of now. The exact / final timeline will be shared once the process of admission for the AY 2024-25 is finalized and Study in India Portal is activated for ICCR Scholars.

Eligibility of Lata Mangeshkar Dance & Music Scholarship

** Students are advised to visit respective University / institute website regularly courses offered, eligibility criteria and general information about the University / institute before applying for admission.

** The students should ensure that they are eligible for the course and meet the eligibility criteria and should submit relevant documentation as required by the Universities, in addition to the basic certificates mentioned in the application form. They would be also advised to refer to the University’s Handbook / University Grants Commission’s website etc.

The applicant’s age for availing scholarship is as under on the date of opening of portal:-
** For Undergraduate / Postgraduate courses – between 18 to 40 Years and
** For PhD Programmes – 50 Years Maximum.

** It is compulsory for all ICCR scholarship students to procure medical insurance policy with minimum sum assured for Indian Rupees 500,000/- per annum. Students must have medical insurance coverage on their own either before travel or immediately after reaching India, whichever is convenient.

** Students can purchase medical insurance from any of the insurance companies of their choice. However, to facilitate students, Portal has two insurance companies for referral purpose. ICCR has uploaded the revised norms on its Portal.

How to Apply for Lata Mangeshkar Dance & Music Scholarship?

The application will not be considered without English translation of documents if the original documents are not in English It may also be noted that incomplete application can be summarily rejected by universities. Students should be advised to thoroughly check their applications and attach requisite documents before submission of the application.

Instructions To Candidates For Filling The Application Form :
i. All entries (except the signature) in the application should be filled in correctly.

ii. Application should be complete in all respects, with all the required information and all necessary supporting documents, as listed below:
** A recent passport size photograph not more than 3.5×4.5cm (25kb) should be uploaded on the application form in the space provided.The photograph should be with white background and without spectacles.
** Copies of all academic qualifications, certificates and marksheet, including those relating to school leaving examination must be uploaded.
** A certificate of physical fitness in the prescribed form.
** Recommendations / character certificates from existing school/University etc

** Certified copies of relevant pages of candidate’s valid passport showing photograph, name, contact details, date of issue, date of expiry and place of issue. Please ensure that your passport is valid for the duration of the course for which you have applied.

** At the time of uploading the required documents kindly ensure that all documents uploaded correctly in the given module e.g. module for educational certificates should only be uploaded with the educational certificates only not other documents such as passport copies or photographs etc.

** Original Certificates/ documents must be carried by the Applicant if admitted for verification by the concerned University/ Institute at the time of joining. This mandatory requirement otherwise admission can be cancelled by the University/ Institute and the ICCR will not be responsible for this.

** In case of Engineering courses, you must have Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) in your school leaving examinations as this is mandatory for Engineering courses.

iii. Candidates are requested that they may apply on portal along with following compulsory details of their Personal/Academic details.
** Passport Number.
** Age Proof (Birth Certificate /Any Unique Identity issued by the Government indicating clear date of Birth)
** Synopsis detail in case of Ph.D candidates

Note:
Ensure that certified copies of documents showing specific qualifications required for the course of your choice (such as GMAT scores for admission in MBA, TOEFL/IELTS scores for English courses etc.) are also attached. The requirements can be checked from the UGC/Institute/University website.
