What is Tata Trusts Means Grant Scheme?

Means Grant Scheme 2024 is sponsored by Tata Trusts. Based on the students’ needs, this scheme offers partial assistance to college (till graduation – except engineering stream) and school-going (STD VIII onwards) students towards their fees. Only students studying in colleges/schools located within Mumbai/Mumbai suburban areas may apply. A maximum of two children from the same family may apply. The last date to accept applications from candidates is March 30, 2024.

Eligibility Criteria of Means Grant

The eligibility criteria are as follows:
** The scheme is applicable for the current academic year only i.e., for the academic year 2023-24.
** Only students studying in colleges/schools located within Mumbai/Mumbai suburban areas may apply.
** Students must secure at least a pass percentage in their previous examination (ATKT students are not eligible to apply).
** A maximum of two children from the same family may apply.
** Students must have their original annual fee receipt in hand when applying.

How to Fill Application Form for Means Grant?

Kindly note that the streams offered under the Trusts’ “Merit-Based Scholarship” programme are not eligible under this scheme. For details, please refer to the section on “Merit-Based Scholarship”.

If your request meets the above-mentioned criteria, you may apply to the Tata Trusts at igpedu[AT]tatatrusts.org along with clear scanned copies of the following documents;
Please read and understand the given instructions carefully before submitting your request to the Trust office.
Instructions:
1. Application (handwritten or typewritten) and all requested documents should be submitted to the Trust office as attachments in a single email.
2. Submitting more than one email for a single application is not allowed and will not be considered.
3. One application cannot be submitted through multiple email IDs.
4. If you wish to apply for two children, you must send two separate emails and two separate sets of documentation.

In case of documents, kindly follow the guidelines below:
A. Please do not submit documents through a drive or link for access/security purposes.
B. Submit the documents in PDF format as attachments.
C. Requested documents must be clearly named as follows:
Application, MarksheetSem1, MarksheetSem2, Income Proof-Father, Income Proof-Mother, Fee Receipts, Identity Proof, etc.
D. In case any false or misleading information/documents are found, the request will not be processed.
E. In case any information or document is found to be false or misleading, the request will be declined.

Please Note:
Tata Trusts do not have any intermediaries/agents. Candidates are advised to beware of individuals who claim to represent the Trusts and demand a share from the grant, if sanctioned. In case any such demands are made, candidates are requested to bring the matter immediately to the notice of the Tata Trusts office at the earlier mentioned email address.

Documents Required of Means Grant

LIST OF MANDATORY DOCUMENTS REQUIRED ALONG WITH THE APPLICATION
1. Mark sheet for the Academic Year 2022-2023 (If a single year comprises two semesters, please submit both semesters’ marksheet)

2. Family Income Proof:
a) Complete set of Income Tax Return for the assessment year 2023-24. In absence of the same, kindly provide a declaration to that effect.
b) Complete set of Form 16 for the assessment year 2023-24. In case, if employer is not issuing form 16 to their employees, submit an employer letter on company’s original letterhead stating the same.
c) Employer letter on company’s original letterhead stating the breakup of the annual gross income and one year pay slips (from April 2022 to March 2023).
d) Valid Income Certificate

3. Original fee receipt for the academic year 2023-2024
4. Identity Proof of the student / Applicant – Aadhar card / PAN Card.
