What is DST Haryana POSE Scholarship Scheme?

Promotion of Science Education (POSE) Scholarship Scheme 2023-24 is sponsored by Haryana State Council for Science. To encourage meritorious students towards science education and to support them for continuation of their science education up to higher level, Haryana State Council for Science, Innovation & Technology awards scholarship to the meritorious students to pursue their higher studies in Basic & Natural Science subjects i.e. B.Sc./B.S./B. Stat/B. Math/Integrated M.Sc./M.S. Last date of Scholarship is 29th December 2023.

Eligibility of POSE Scholarship

** The students should have passed class X and XII Board examination from a school situated in Haryana with minimum 80% marks for Haryana Board School and 85% marks for other boards like CBSE/ICSE etc. in 12th class.
** The students passing X or XII board examination from a school outside Haryana have to produce Haryana Residence Certificate.

** This criteria is not applicable to students admitted in reputed National Institutes i.e. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Department of Atomic Energy – Centre for Basic Sciences (DAE-CBS), Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in basic and natural science course.

Number of POSE Scholarships

250 (up to post-graduate level)
In case of tie preference will be given as under:
(a) Girl students will be preferred.
(b) Preference to language score better of (English/Hindi) in 12th class board.
(c) Student younger in age will be preferred.

Amount of POSE Scholarship

(i) 1st to 3rd year of B.Sc./B.S./ B. Stat./B. Math/Integrated M.Sc./M.S. Rs. 4000/- pm.
(ii) 4th to 5th years of Integrated B.S./B. Stat/B. Math/M.Sc./M.S./ M. Math./ M. Stat. Rs. 6000/- pm.

Note:- The selected students will get mentorship grant (one time) of Rs. 12,000/- in 3-year B.Sc. program, Rs. 17,000/- in 4-year B.S. program, Rs. 22,000/- in 5-year integrated M.Sc. program.

Selection Criteria of Promotion of Science Education (POSE) Scholarship
i) First priority will be accorded to the students admitted in a reputed National Institute i.e. IIT, ISI, IISER, NISER, DAE-CBS, IISc in basic and natural science course.

ii) Remaining scholarships, if any, will be given to others admitted in a basic and natural science course on merit. Merit list will be prepared based on average percentage score obtained in class 12th board examination in English/Hindi (better of the two) and best of three out of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology (i.e. Total of four subjects divided by maximum marks in four subjects = %age).

How to Apply for POSE Scholarship?

Procedure for submitting online application for POSE scholarship :
1 Click the link for filling the online application https://harchhatravratti.highereduhry.ac.in
2 Click on Student option and go to student registration. Enter PPP (Family ID) and get OTP.
3 Enter the OTP and verify OTP.
4 Student registration form will open.
5 Fill the details along with email Id and create your own password. Read terms and conditions then click the register button.
6 You will receive your user ID.
7 Fill user id and password.
8 Open the page, click for Apply for Scholarship on left hand side. Select Promotion of Science Education (POSE).
9 Click the Submit button and enter the OTP and verify OTP.
10 All fields are mandatory. Please fill all columns and upload all required documents.
11 Submit the form. You will get application reference No. You can track your application through given tab. Please don’t send the application by post.
12 The applications submitted within the due date will be accepted.
13 THE APPLICANTS OWN VALID AND FUNCTIONAL EMAIL ADDRESS, MOBILE NUMBER AND BANK DETAILS MUST BE USED FOR SUBMISSION OF THE ONLINE APPLICATION.
14 Don’t submit more than one application. Please ensure that all columns of the application are correct before submitting.
15 No claims shall be entertained in case of incomplete or non-submitted application.
16 Wrongly filled application or application with lack of essential documents will summarily be rejected.

Required Documents of POSE Scholarship

I. Signature of the applicant
II. Self attested copy of Aadhar Card.
III. Photograph of the applicant
IV. 10th Class Marksheet/certificate
V. 12th Class Marksheet/Certificate
VI. Enrollment Certificate from Head/Principal/Registrar/Director of the college/university/institute. (as per annexure-I)*
VII. Declaration of not availing any other Scholarship. (as per annexure – II)*
VIII. Rural area school certificate of class 11th & 12th if claimed 2% additional weightage (as per annexure-III & IV).

The students who have passed their 11th & 12th class from rural area elite schools will not be given additional weightage of 2%. ‘Elite’ schools are defined to be schools, where tuition fees and other charges payable exceed Rs. One lakh per year. (If student claim additional weightage of 2% for rural area school then submission of Annual charges certificate (annexure V) and rural area school certificate (annexure III & IV) dully signed by school principal, from where 11th and 12th class pass, sarpanch of the village panchayat and concerned BDPO are mandatory.
