What is National Scholarship Test (NST) for CSE?
Every year thousands of deserving civil services aspirants are unable to get institutional guidance for UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) due to unfavourable financial circumstances. We, at NEXT IAS, have a strong belief in quality education for all. Therefore, to nurture the talent of such candidates, NEXT IAS is pleased to announce the National Scholarship Test for CSE 2025. Eligibility of National Scholarship Test
Anyone who has cleared Class 12th is eligible to appear for NST.
How to Register for NST?
** Visit https://nst.nextias.com.
** Fill NST online registration form & pay the registration fee.
** Admit cards will be available on 11th October 2023 (10:00 am onwards). You can log in using your mobile number / Email ID and download your admit card.
** Your examination centre will be given on the admit card.
** Candidates should produce the Admit Card along with valid Photo ID proof to enter the examination hall.
Registration:
** For appearing in the scholarship test, applicants must register online through the official website of NEXT IAS.
** Registration will only be considered complete upon providing accurate and complete information, along with payment of registration fee.
** The registration fees paid for National Scholarship Test is non-refundable.
Scholarship Award of NST
** Scholarship is available only for the following courses of NEXT IAS:
Delhi Centre: GS Pre cum Main Foundation course for CSE 2025 in both English and Hindi medium.
Jaipur Centre: GS Pre cum Main Foundation course for CSE 2025 in both English and Hindi medium.
Bhopal Centre: GS Pre cum Main Foundation course for CSE 2025 in only English medium.
** Scholarship amount would be adjusted against the tuition fee of the GS Pre cum Main Foundation course at the time of admission.
** The scholarship is non-transferable to any other candidate or course.
** Decisions of NEXT IAS regarding scholarship awards are final and binding.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on NST National Scholarship Test
What is NST?
NST is an initiative of NEXT IAS to support the meritorious civil services aspirants who are unable to get institutional guidance for the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) due to unfavorable financial circumstances. The shortlisted candidates will be awarded up to 100% scholarship on our GS Pre-cum-Main Foundation course.
What is the eligibility for participating in NST?
Anyone who has cleared Class 12th is eligible to appear for NST.
What is the mode of examination?
NST will be conducted offline in 55 cities across India.
Can NST be attempted in online mode?
NST will be conducted only in offline mode, and can’t be attempted online.

What is the test pattern and syllabus for the examination?
** The test will consist of 100 questions of objective type (Multiple choice questions). 70 questions will be from General Studies, and the rest 30 questions will be from the Aptitude section.
** Breakup of the Aptitude section would be (a) 15 questions of Reading comprehension, (b) 10 questions of Logical Reasoning, (c) 5 questions of Quantitative aptitude.

Reading comprehension: Basic Comprehension skills
Logical Reasoning: Coding and decoding, Direction-sense, Syllogism, Non-verbal reasoning, Number series
Quantitative aptitude: Number series, Probability, Permutation and combination, Arithmetic – Time, Speed and Distance, Profit-Loss, Data sufficiency.
What will be the difficulty level of the questions?
The General Studies questions will be of Class 12th level, and the Aptitude section questions will be of Class 10th level.
How to prepare for NST?
** For the preparation of the General Studies, students can refer to the NST study kit (Click here).
** For the preparation of the Aptitude section, students can refer to any basic study resource available on the internet. Questions will be of basic class 10th level.
** Regular Zoom sessions will also be conducted to guide the students regarding the preparation of NST
How much scholarship is available through NST?

Will the NST scholarship be applicable for Offline Courses or Live/Online Courses?
NST Scholarship is available for both offline and live-online versions of the GS Pre cum Main Foundation course.
Will the NST scholarship be applicable for Optional courses / Mains-advance courses / Test Series / AIM / Postal courses?
No. The scholarship is available only for the GS Pre cum Main Foundation course as specified above.
Will the scholarship be applicable on the tuition fee or the total fee?
The Scholarship is applicable on tuition fees. The tuition fee implies the total fee, excluding the admission fee and book charges.
Can the NST scholarship be transferred to another candidate?
No. The NST Scholarship is non-transferable and can be availed only by the student who has been awarded the scholarship.
What is the last date to take admission after the NST result is declared?
Shortlisted students can take admission in any GS Pre cum Main foundation batch for CSE 2025. But to reserve your seat, you need to pay a nominal confirmation fee before a tentative deadline.
