Lila Poonawalla Foundation scholarships are merit-cum-need based scholarships. LPF awards scholarships to women only.

The students are gifted with an outright grant of up to a maximum of rupees one lakh per year for completing their education either UG and or PG courses in various fields for entire period of the course, subject to continuous, excellent academic performance.

The amount sanctioned depends on the financial needs of the girl. Girls with outstanding academic records, but economically needy, are selected. The criterion for selection is well defined and only deserving girls are selected. Every candidate is interviewed before final selection.

The Foundation, which receives 1000s of applications annually,has already given 5000 scholarships so far,supporting 2944 young ladies across school, UG and PG levels.

About Us
Lila Poonawalla Foundation (LPF) is a Charitable Trust registered in India, on September 9, 1995, vide Bombay Charitable Trust Act 1950, with the vision to contribute to the empowerment of Indian women by supporting academically outstanding and financially deserving girls, through scholarships to pursue education. Padmashree Mrs. Lila Poonawalla is the pioneer as well as the driving force behind the foundation. She recognized the need of providing financial assistance to young girls so that their destinies could be changed with higher education. In the year 1994 she laid the groundwork for ‘Lila Poonawalla Foundation’, which granted scholarships to 20 needy and deserving girls in its first year, i.e. in 1996.
