Scholarship Scheme
Merit Scholarship
The Uttaranchal University encourages scholarly aptitude in students. In order to recognize their academic excellence following scholarships are awarded to students who perform extremely well in their qualifying examinations.
Conditions:
The merit scholarship will be awarded to students on the basis of their performance in their qualifying examinations if, following conditions are met with.
(i) All courses/subjects of their qualifying examinations are cleared in first attempt.
(ii)This scholarship is applicable for first year only; the students cannot claim the scholarship for subsequent years.
(iii) There will be no rounding of CGPA or the marks in their qualifying , for example if a student achieves CGPA “8.99” it will be considered as 8.99 and will not be considered as 9.00 similarly, if a student achieves 89.99% it will not be considered as 90.00%
Uttarakhand State Domicile Scholarship
The Uttaranchal University awards 26% scholarship in Tuition Fee to Uttarakhand Domiciled Students, 40% of seats for these students are reserved throughout all the programmes of the University.
To claim this award of scholarship the student must carry a valid Domicile certificate (Original) of Uttarakhand State at the time of admission/counselling.
Hilly States Domicile Scholarship
The Uttaranchal University awards 15% scholarship in Tuition Fee to the Domiciled students of Hilly states of India viz J&K, Ladakh, Sikkim, Nagaland, Assam, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh and Darjeeling &Siliguri the hilly districts of West Bengal.
To claim this award of scholarship the student must carry a valid Domicile certificate (Original) of their state(s) at the time of admission/counselling
Sushila Devi Scholarship For Girls
The Uttaranchal University awards 10% Sushila Devi Scholarship for Girl students on net Tuition Fee applicable for the first year for Diploma/UG/PG programmes subject to following conditions
(i) The Scholarship percentage will remain same for ‘Uttarakhand’ / ’All India’ category.
(ii)The student who is availing this scholarship must be aware that this scholarship is applicable for first year only and will not be continued in subsequent years of study, further this scholarship cannot be ‘changed’ or ’converted’ or ’in lieu of’ to any other scholarship after first year.
Scholarship to the Wards of Defence Personnel
The Uttaranchal University awards 5% scholarship on net Tuition Fee to the son/daughter of defence personnel (including Para Military viz ITBP, CRPF, etc.). To claim this award of scholarship the student must carry a valid certificate (Original) of their father/mother at the time of admission/counselling.
1. In case of serving Defence Personnel:
(i) Dependent’s card issued to the servicemen / A certificate issued by the Unit Head / C.O. of the servicemen
(ii) ID card of the servicemen
(iii) ID/Aadhaar card of the student
2. In case of retired Defence Personnel:
(i) Discharge certificate of the servicemen
(ii)ID card of the Ex-Servicemen(iii) ID/Aadhaar card of the student
3. In case of deceased Defence Personnel in combat:
(i) Dependent’s card issued to the servicemen / A certificate issued by the Unit Head/C.O. of the servicemen.
(ii) ID/Aadhaar card of the studentD
Scholarship to the Brother/Sister of Alumnus
The Uttaranchal University awards 5% scholarship on net Tuition Fee to the brother/sister of Alumnus To claim this award of scholarship the student must carry the following documents at the time of admission/counselling.
(i) Aadhaar / Any valid photo ID proof of the student bearing the name of the parent.
(ii) Mark sheet/Certificate issued to Alumnus bearing the names of parents.
Scholarship to the Sibling
The Uttaranchal University awards 5% scholarship on net Tuition Fee to sibling of present students. To claim this award of scholarship the sibling must carry the following documents at the time of admission
(i) Aadhaar / Any valid photo ID proof of the siblings bearing the name of the parents.
(ii) Mark Sheet issued bearing name of sibling & parents.
General Conditions
1. The student will not be entitled for more than two scholarships out of D1, D2, D3 and D4 as mentioned above. He/she may choose the best or whichever is higher and beneficial at the time of admission. Scholarship once chosen cannot be changed or interchanged with another scholarship in future. D1 scholarship will be awarded to girl students only in the 1styear and will not be continued in subsequent years.
2. The award of scholarship will be applied to the net Tuition Fee for scholarship type D1, D2, D3, & D4 only. D1 scholarship will be awarded to girl students only in the 1st year and will not be continued in subsequent years.
3. The eligible students are required to submit an affidavit duly signed by their parents/legal guardians accepting all the conditions of the offer of award of scholarship.
