CSNRF 2016 Chhatrapati Shahu National Research Fellowship :
History is marked by rare instances where power wielders fight on the side of the powerless by empowering them through knowledge. Chatrapati Shahu Maharaj’s contribution to the struggle for social justice, equality, right to equal opportunity and the removal of caste bias remains unparalleled.

In commemoration of this visionary, who laid down and implemented the earliest affirmative action projects in educational history of the country BARTI invites applications from Scheduled Caste candidates of Maharashtra for the Award of M.Phil. / Ph.D. Fellowships. The fellowship scheme is formulated and funded by BARTI and named as “Chatrapati Shahu National Research Fellowship” (CSNRF).

For the year 2016, BARTI invites applications from Scheduled Caste candidates of Maharashtra State for the Award of M. Phil. / Ph.D. Fellowships. The fellowships are open to Scheduled Castes (SC) candidates belonging to Maharashtra, who wish to pursue regular and fulltime M. Phil. and Ph.D. degrees, in any subject, from Indian Universities / Institutions / Colleges approved under Section 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act and in Non-Universities / Institutions.

Number of Fellowships :
Twenty Five (25) M. Phil. / Ph.D. fellowships will be awarded this year.

Reservations :
Thirteen (13) fellowships for women. One (1) fellowship for Persons with Disability. This number may increase or decrease

Eligibility :
SC Candidates having PG degree as on the date of the application.

Important, Please Note :
As stated in the revised guidelines of the fellowships, if the candidate is pursuing an integrated M.Phil./ Ph. D. Programme (2+3 years), then candidate has to apply for the fellowship through a separate application for M.Phil. as well as Ph.D. Selection for M.Phil. does not imply selection for Ph.D. fellowship automatically even in case of students pursuing an integrated programme. In case of any difference in interpretation, the clarification provided by BARTI will be final and binding

How To Apply:
** Eligible and interested candidates may send their applications in the prescribed format downloadable from website barti.maharashtra.gov.in (click on NOTICE BOARD >CSNRF – 2016).  The candidate should enclose attested copies of all necessary documents along with the duly filled application and Research Proposal including concept note containing research details, etc. in about 2000 words and send by Registered Post.
