What is DET Unemployment Assistance Scheme?
Unemployed Assistance Scheme is provided by Department of Employment and Training (DET), Government of Tamilnadu. Unemployed Youth in Tamilnadu can apply for this scheme. Family income should not be more than Rs.50,000/- per annum. The Unemployment Assistance will be paid for a maximum period of Ten Years continuously or till the beneficiary gets a job whichever is earlier

Details of DET Unemployment Assistance Scheme
For Normal Candidates
With a view to mitigate the hardships faced by the Unemployed youth, who are without job for many long years, a scheme to distribute unemployment assistance to these youth the Unemployment Assistance Scheme was formally announced in G.O.Ms.No.72, Labour and Employment (R2) Department. Dated: 25.08.2006 to SSLC, HSC and Degree Registrants.
Then the Scheme extended to SSLC failed registrants vide G.O.No.215, Labour and Employment (R2) Department dated: 25.10.2010. As per G.O M.S.No.19 Labour and Employment (R2)Dept., dated 20/02/2017 the unemployment assistant amount has been enhanced and doubled.
Unemployment Assistance is given to those who are waiting on the Live Registers of Employment Exchanges without a job for at least 5 years. The assistance is given for three years subject to eligibility conditions like family income should not be more than Rs.50,000/- per annum,
The Registrants should not a bonafide student of any School / College, the Registrants should not employed in Government / Private or Self Employed, the Registrants should get a Consolidated Certificate from the Revenue Inspector in which the above conditions should be mentioned, the maximum age limit is 40 years for others and 45 years SC/ST, the Registrants registered with Employment Office for the continuous period of five years or more and the Registrants should be opened a Savings Bank Account with the Nationalised Banks.
An amount of Rs.200/- for SSLC failed, Rs.300/- for SSLC passed, Rs.400/- for HSC passed and Rs.600/- for Graduates per month is paid to beneficiaries.The Beneficiaries to receive the assistance, should submit a self declaration certificate has to submitted at the start of second and third years.
As per Scheme, the eligible beneficiaries’ list prepared at every Quarter and submitted to the District Treasury / P.A.O Offices and the Assistance is sanctioned and disbursed through the beneficiaries’ Savings Accounts in Nationalised Banks.
For Differently Abled Candidates
Unemployment Allowance to Differently Abled Persons fund is allotted by Commissionorate of Differently Abled. The Applicant should have waited in the Live Register of the Employment Exchange for a period of not less than one year.
The quantum of allowance is as follows:-
1. Up to SSLC Passed Rs.600/-per month.
2. HSC passed Rs.750/-per month.
3. Degree Rs.1000/-per month.
Total parental Income limit has been removed vide G.O.31, Differently Abled Welfare Department, dated:26.06.2010. There is no upper age limit for all catagory to avail this scheme
The Registrants should not be a bonafied student of any School / College. The Registrants should not be employed in Government / Private or Self Employed. The Registrants should open a Savings Bank Account with the Nationalised Banks.
The Unemployment Assistance will be paid for a maximum period of Ten Years continuously or till the beneficiary gets a job whichever is earlier. The Unemployment Allowance is paid every quarter wise through ECS mode in the Saving Bank account of the individual beneficiary.
