Scholarships To Economically Underprivileged Students:
The Asha-Shree Endowment offers scholarships to economically underprivileged students in India.

Applicants must be currently enrolled in one of the following, in India, solely based on merit:
** Graduate or post-graduate professional degree courses [Medicine, Engineering, Agriculture, Pharmacy, Architecture, Law, etc.]
** Post-graduate degree courses in other disciplines
** Post-doctoral research projects of social and community interest
A scholarship of Rs. 50,000 per year is awarded to a beneficiary for the entire duration of a course. The continuation of a scholarship is contingent upon an outstanding performance by the beneficiary in each semester. Up to 5 new students are selected every year.
Since its establishment in 1998, the endowment has helped over 30 deserving students in completing multiple years of their education in various fields including Science, Arts, Architecture, and Design. The endowment has also supported doctoral projects.
On a case-by-case basis, educational institutes and other social and charitable organizations have also received donations from the endowment for their special projects focused on education.
Application Process
** Asha-Shree Endowment accepts online applications only. Applicants shall fill and submit the online form available on this page below.
** Online applications are accepted every year.
** The trust will contact only those applicants who are shortlisted for an interview.
** Applicants shortlisted for interviews will be asked to submit recommendation letters, attested copies of marksheets and certificates, and other supporting documents for verification.
** Upon verification of information, each eligible student will be invited for an interview. Interview will be with a panel of experts who will select the scholarship awardees.
** The scholarship awardees will be notified by the Asha-Shree Endowment.
About the Trust
Shreeram Tryambak Godbole (1913-1996) was a devoted teacher, one who strove for an all-round development of his students. He began his career as a teacher at the Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha, Pune – a pioneer institute in women’s education movement. Later he taught at the Wilson High School, Mumbai and in 1971 he retired as the Principal of Sir Elly Kadoori High School, Mumbai.
He had interest in Arts, Music, and Literature. Subject closest to his heart was History. He wrote articles in newspapers and magazines on historical, educational, and literary topics of current interest. He translated and edited “Bharatiya Itihasachi Saha Soneri Pane” – a book by Swatantryaveer Savarkar into “Six Glorious Epochs of Indian History” in 1972. Currently, the third edition of this book is under print.
