Scholarship Under NEC Scheme :

ADVERTISEMENT FOR AWARDING SCHOLARSHIP (FRESH) UNDER NEC SCHEME 2015-16 SUBJECT TO RELEASE OF FUND FROM NEC [Under the Scheme “Financial support to the students of NER for Higher Professional Courses”]

Online Applications at dteassam.in are invited from the students of Assam who fulfill the following general criteria for NEC STIPEND AND BOOK GRANT.

1. General Conditions of Eligibility:
i. A Non-Duplication certificate as prescribed in the application form to be duly signed by the competent authority must be submitted in every case.

ii. The minimum qualifying marks to apply for the Scholarship shall be 75% in PCM or PCB (as applicable) for General/OBC/MOBC and 60% in PCM or PCB (as applicable) for SC/ST candidates in the relevant qualifying examination for Diploma, Degree and Post Graduate courses.

iii. The stipend and book grants are open only to a candidate who is a permanent resident of State of Assam. The Residential Proof/Certificate should issued by the Deputy Commissioner of the district. Certificate from any other authority will not be accepted. However, for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe applicants, the Caste certificate issued by the competent authority may be considered as P.R.C.

iv. The candidate should posses the relevant qualification from any recognized Institution. An original certificate from the Institution of study must be produced by the candidate.
v. The student must not be in receipt of any other financial assistant from any other sources. A sponsored candidate under full employment during the period of study shall not be eligible to receive the stipend.

vi. Financial assistance of Stipend/Book-Grants shall be admissible to students taking admission in to the 1st year/entry level of the courses as shown below during the year 2014-15 specified in the list of subject and courses in all institutes recognized by the Ministry of Human Resource Development/respective Ministry of the Govt. of India.

vii. The Stipend/Book-Grant shall be tenable for the prescribed duration of a course. A student failing to pass in a particular year shall not receive further stipend till he/she passes the specific year of the course. The Institution shall certify to that effect and make specific recommendation there to.

viii. Candidates holding service are not covered by this scheme.
ix. Selection will be made strictly on the basis of merit in all cases.

x. The present rate of stipends and subject/course is as under
Level of study Stipend Book-grant
Diploma Rs. 900pm Rs 1000pa
Degree Rs. 1000pm Rs 1400pa
Post-graduate Rs. 1200pm Rs 2000pa
Ph.D. / M. Phil. Rs. 1500pm Rs 3000pa

xi. *The rates are subject to revision from time to time

2. RESERVATION FOR SC/ST/OBC/MOBC :
Reservations shall be as per norms followed by Government.

3. How to apply :
Intending candidates must apply online at dteassam.in in between 12th Oct. 2015 to 15th Nov., 2015 and take print-out after online submission, and submit it to the Principal/Head of the Institution, along with the necessary copy of certificates/testimonials.

The Principal/Head of the Institution are to send the documents to The Director of Technical Education, Assam, Kahilipara, Guwahati-781019 on or before 30th November, 2015.

In case of doubt/clarification the matter shall be referred to the Directorate of Technical Education, Assam, Kahilipara, Guwahati-19.

Important dates:

** Advertisement will be made by the month of October every year.

** Hard copy of the Application Form along with all relevent documents are to be submitted to the Head of the institution where he/she is pursuing his/her course. The Head of the institutions shall send the Hard copy along with all relevent documents after varifying and filling neecessary detail to the following address by 30th November, 2015 positively.

** Application scrutinized by the month of December every year.
** Preparation of list by January every year.
** Application forms placed before the selection commitee by 15th Feb. every year.
** Necessary sanctioned accorded within 28th Feb, every year.
** Sanction amount drawn within 31st March, every year.
** Fund will be released to the selected students in due time.
