About the scheme:
This scheme operational since 2002, is to promote and support MSc/M.Tech rank holders from the Universities in Kerala in Ph. D. work.

KSCSTE will notify in the form of advertisements in newspapers inviting applications from qualified candidates for the award of Research Fellowships of the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment, an autonomous body of Government of Kerala. There will be 100 research fellowships in the subject areas namely Mathematical Sciences, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, Engineering Sciences and Environmental Sciences.

Objectives:
** To provide the research training and to develop careers as scientists.
** To motivate fellows and impart the skills needed for them to become lifelong learners and for them to develop leadership skills and work effectively

Who can apply?:
** Candidates should have awarded MSc/M-Tech degree in any of the subjects listed above in the current year and two previous years.
** Candidates should be from among the 1st ten rank /position holders from any of the Universities in Kerala.
** Age should not be more than 35 years as on 1 st January.

Features:
Rs 16,000/- pm for the first two years and Rs 18,000/- for the 3rd years. The fellowship will carry an annual contingency grant of Rs 20,000/- Plus H.R.A.

Duration:
The period of fellowship shall be for a period not exceeding three years
