IISER Kolkata invites applications for IISER-K Summer Student Research Fellowship Programme 2019.

Objective

To provide B.Sc., M.Sc., B.S., M.S., B.Tech., and B.E. students of Institutions or Universities across the world an opportunity of exposure to a research environment by associating them with one of the Research Groups of IISER during the summer vacation.

How to Apply?

Just follow the below steps to apply for the IISER-K Summer Student Research Fellowship Programme 2019.

Steps :
Step 1 : Go to the official website of IISER Kolkata through provided above.
Step 2 : Read the instructions carefully and click on the “Online Application” link.

Step 3 : Enter your Full Name, Date of Birth and Email to complete the registration.

Step 4 : After registration, fill the remaining details and upload the necessary documents to complete the application.

Requirements

(a) Staying in campus accommodation throughout the period of visit is mandatory unless the research work requires travelling.
(b) Selected candidates must abide by the rules and regulations applicable to the regular students of IISER-K.
(c) Submission of a final Project Report is mandatory for the award of completion certificate.

Salient Points

(a) The duration of Summer Research Programme of IISER Kolkata is from 20th May to 12th July, 2019.
(b) ONLY applications submitted through the portal will be considered for Summer Internship 2019.
(b) Each selected candidate will be formally associated with a Faculty Member of the Institute.

(c) After joining, each candidate needs original certificate from currently affiliated organization (HoD/Supervisor, on letterhead) that she/he is not getting any other financial support.

(d) For funded interns, a consolidated Fellowship amount will be deposited in intern’s bank account directly at the end of the programme.
(e) On-campus accommodation is mandatory, and is chargeable.

(f) Hostel Accommodation (Rs. 125.00 per week) and Bedding (Rs. 35.00 per day) charges for the duration of the entire stay need to be paid at the time of joining. Students can bring their own bedding.

(g) Access to computational and library facilities will be provided.
(h) Each candidate must submit a formal Joining report within 1 week of joining that has the details on Project Title, Bank Account details, and approval by selected Faculty Member.

The address and bank account details (if any) submitted by the candidates will be treated final. The institute will not be liable for these information.

(i) Selected students should join the Program in no later than one week from 20th May.
(j) A participation certificate will be awarded at the end of the Programme, subject to the submission of a Project Report.

Financial Support

** The Fellowship is of Rs.1250.00 per week or Rs. 10000.00 for eight weeks.
** The Fellowship of the CAFM funded summer students is of Rs.1750.00 per week or Rs. 14000.00 for eight weeks.

** Last date of receiving confirmation from selected candidates – 3rd April, 2019

FAQs

1. What to do after reaching campus?
Students need to go to the Hostel for completing accommodation formalities. After that they need to pay accommodation charges in the Accounts Section.

Hostel Accommodation (Rs. 125.00 per week) and Bedding (Rs. 35.00 per day) charges for the duration of the entire stay need to be paid at the time of joining. Students can bring their own bedding.

2. When will certificates be issued?
Certificates will be issued after successful completion of summer programme 2019 subject to fulfillment of the following conditions-

** Students will have to submit a Project Report at the end of their Program.
** Students are required to submit a Project Completion form in the Academic Cell.

** Certificates will be sent to the candidates to their respective postal address submitted by them in Project completion form.
** Students can expect their certificate in end August or early September.

** Students need to write their correct pin code with full address in project completion form for successful delivery of certificate.
** Joining report and Project completion form should be written in a legible handwriting.

3. What to carry to the campus?
A candidate must carry any identity proof, i.e., PAN card/Aadhar card/ Voter Id/ Passport/Driving license or any other Government issued identity proof.

4. Is it necessary to stay in campus?
On-campus accommodation is mandatory, and is chargeable.
Note : Information furnished by candidate in Joining report and Project completion form will be treated as final and binding on the candidates. No further changes/modifications will be entertained.
