CSWC Golap Borbora Scholarship Programme

College Students Welfare Committee invites applications for C.S.W.C Golap Borbora Scholarship Programme for the year 2018-19.

The Scholarship award shall cover full tuition fee of the selected candidate for the entire duration of their Undergraduate course.

Eligibility

(a) The Scholarship is available to undergraduate level students pursuing a major course in Political Science or Economics in any government or provincialized institution across Assam.

(b) Applicants should be in the First year (i.e. first or second semester) of their Undergraduate Courses.

(c) Interested candidates should have obtained a minimum score of 75% and above in their Higher Secondary examinations to be eligible to apply for the scholarships.

Application Procedure

Step 1 : Interested candidates can download the Application Form from the website or you can directly download it from below mentioned link.

Step 2 : After downloading the application form, the candidate is required to fill it up with black/ blue ballpoint pen

Step 3 : The completed application form would have to be then scanned and emailed as attachment along with the other supporting documents.

Step 4 : For applying for the scholarship, candidates would have to send email attachments of the following documents to cswcscholarship [AT] gmail.com

1) Duly completed Application Form
2) Scanned photocopy of College identity card. (Self attested)
3) Scanned photocopy of Class XII Higher Secondary Examination marksheet. (Self attested)
4) Essay ( for topics & writing style, refer section 10 )

** The essay needs to be sent in .PDF format
** All the 4 documents would have to be sent in a single email
** The ‘Subject’ field of the email should include <name of applicant> <Scholarship Applicant>

e.g. – if an individual named Rajesh Barua is applying, then he should write the subject of his mail as Rajesh Barua Scholarship Applicant

Selection Procedure

** Candidates would be judged on the basis of their performance measured on a scale of 200 marks. The percentage secured by a candidate in their Class XII Board examinations would be treated as their Higher Secondary Examination Score.

** Assessment would be made on the basis of scores obtained by a student in the following segments.
i. Higher Secondary Examination Score – 100 marks
ii. Essay – 60 marks
iii. Interview – 40 marks.

** On the basis of performance in Higher Secondary Examinations and score obtained in the Essay, a merit list would be prepared. Top 10% of the students in that list shall be invited for the interview.

** The final selection would be made on the basis of performance of the selected students in all three segments

Scope of Scholarship

(a) The Scholarship award shall cover college and course related fees in full for the entire duration of the course. This can include admission fees, tuition fees, examination fees, and semester fees.

The award does not cover Hostel fees or any other accommodation related costs. The award also does not cover costs of study materials.

(b) The scholarship award has an upper bracket of Rs 32,000. No amount more than that would be released.
(c) A student cannot avail this scholarship if she/he is already a beneficiary of some other scholarship award.
