University Grants Commission invites applications for SVSGC Swami Vivekananda Single Girl Child Scholarship for Research in Social Sciences for the year 2018-19.

Objective

The objectives of the proposed scheme are
a) To support higher education of single girl child in Social Sciences.
b) To recognize the value of observance of small family norm.
c) To recognize the norm of single girl child in society.
d) To propagate the concept of single girl child norm.
e) Promoting single girls in the society.

Eligibility

i) Any single girl child of her parents.
ii) Only girl child in the family without having any brother or the girl student who are twin daughters/ fraternal daughter may also apply for scholarship under the aforesaid scheme.

iii) In a family if one son and one daughter is available then girl child will not be considered for scholarship under the scheme.

iv)The scheme is applicable to such a single girl child who has taken admission in regular, full -time Ph. D. program in Social Sciences in any recognized University/Institute. Admission to Ph.D. Course in Distance education mode is not covered under the scheme.

v) Girl students up to the age of 40 years for general and 45 years for the reserved category SC/ST/OBC and Physical handicapped at the time of admission in Ph.D courses are eligible.

How to Apply?

Just follow the below steps to apply for the Swami Vivekananda Single Girl Child Scholarship for Research in Social Sciences 2018-19.

Steps :
Step 1 : Go to the official website of University Grants Commission through the URL provided above.
Step 2 : Read the instruction carefully and Click on the “Apply Now” button in the menu bar.

Step 3 : Accept the terms & conditions and Click on “Proceed for Registration” button to continue with registration.

Step 4 : Nextm Fill-in Personal Information including caste and physical disability certificate(if applicable). A candidate registration id is generated on completion of step 1 that can be used for generating a pdf file once submission process is completed.

Step 5 : Fill-in Research Information including Subject,Research topic, Department etc
Step 6 : Fill-in Other Information including paper published & Scholarships/Present employement etc.
Step 7 : Accept the declaration and finally click on “Submit” button

Documents Required

1. Caste Certificate (in Case of SC/ST/OBC) issued by competent authority viz. Tehsildar/SDM etc.
2. Proof of Age Certificate. (i.e. Xth certificate, School Leaving Certificate etc)

3. Proof of admission in Ph.D.degree course in a recognized Indian University covered under Section 2(f) and 12(B) of UGC Act.
4. A certificate from the University/Institute where student has taken admission to Ph.D.Course.

5. Proof of being single giri child-An affidavit On Rs.50/- Stamp paper from the student/parent duly attested by SDM/First Class Magistrate/Gazetted Officer (not below the rank of Tahsildar) copying the prescribed languages. (Annexure II of the guideline)

6. Mark sheet for Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate degree.
7. Upload Undertaking/NOC Form Download Undertaking/NOC Form
8. Person with Disability(PwD) Certificate (if applicable)

Amount Of Scholarship

The number of slots for fellowship may be decided every year on the basis of eligible applications complete in all respects, received through online mode.
