A unique scholarship program by Amar Ujala Foundation specially tailored for the students pursuing their education from government institutions, having family income below 1.5 Lakh Rupees

For some students, getting scholarships might just be a simple financial support, whereas for others, it is the only ray of hope to fulfill their dreams of pursuing education.

In India, more than 7 million children don’t have access to quality education, whereas 50% of all children drop out before they complete their 12th.Keeping the urgent need of Access to quality education education to the underprivileged children in mind, Amar Ujala Foundation started its unique Scholarship Program called Atul Maheshwari Chhatravritti.

For the first time in India, a unique scholarship program was launched in June 2014 which was specially tailored for students belonging to below poverty line category. Launched specifically for the students pursuing their education from government institutions, having family income below 1.5 Lakh Rupees, Atul Maheshwari Scholarship won many hearts in very less time.

More than 1.5 Lakh students registered for this scholarship exam, to be conducted across the states of Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana and Uttarakhand. Not only the students, we received tremendous support from many educational institutions, teachers and district administration.

The Atul Maheshwari Scholarship not only attracted maximum number of students to appear for the exam, but also united many departments to come forward and devote their services for a special cause.

Students who secured more than 60 % marks in 9th std and above, and whose annual family income was less than 1.5 lac a maximum of were eligible to participate in the scholarship program.

A total of 225 students were selected through this scholarship program and scholarships worth Rs.17.5 Lakh were distributed to the students according to the class they studied in.

The students selected through this scholarship program would continue to get scholarship for 3 consecutive years. After the first year of availing the scholarship, students will have to submit their mark sheet and must have scored at least 50%.
