Applications are invited from the intending students studying in class –X (Ten) for the State Level National Talent Search Examination (NTS)- 2015-16.

About the Scheme (NTS):
National Talent Search Scheme is a flagship activity of National Council of Educational Research & Training (NCERT). The purpose of the scheme is to identify the talented students and nurture their talent on the basis of examination conducted. Scholarship will be awarded as per NCERT Rules.
Scholarship:
About One thousand scholarships are awarded for different stages of education as follows:
(a) Scholarship of Rs. 1250/- per month for Class XI to XII.
(b) Scholarship of Rs. 2000/- per month for Undergraduates and Post-graduates.
(c) Amount of Scholarship for Ph.D. be fixed in accordance with the UGC norms.
Reservation:
15% for students belonging to the SC category, 7.5% for students belonging to the ST category and 3% for Physically challenged Group of students.
Selection:
There will be two stage selection process for award of scholarship.
Stage-I, selection will be done by State /UTs and those who qualify Stage-I, will be eligible to appear for Stage-II examination, conducted by NCERT
Qualifying Marks:
Qualifying marks for candidates from General category is 40% in each paper and for candidates from SC, ST, PH is 35% in each paper.
Eligibility :
Students of Class-X studying in Government, Local Body, Govt. Aided, Private Schools are eligible to appear for Stage –I examination.
Application Form :
Students may visit our website www.madhyamik.in for online submission of application which will be available from 15th August, 2015, 11.00 A.M.
Examination Centre:
Stage-I NTS Examination will be held at almost all the District Headquarters. However centre of examination may be increased or decreased by the authority depending upon the number of candidates for the Examination from the District.
Important Dates :
1. Last date of submission of Application Form :- 15th September 2015 upto 5.00 P.M.
2. Examination Date :- 8th November 2015(Sunday).
Admit Card:
The Admit Card for the candidate will be available online. The candidate may download his/her admit card by putting his/her application number or user name on or after 30th October’ 2015. If any candidate fails to submit required information or deposit required fee, their application will be rejected and no admit card will issued against them.
Rate of Examination Fee:
Rs.150/- per student of General Category.
Rs.100/- per student of SC/ST Category.
How to deposit fee:
For ONLINE submission of application, the candidates have to deposit fee in any SBI Branch by e-challan generated by ONLINE PORTAL.

In one notification they instructed to open a zero balance account in SBI but they were not cleared about where to submit the bank account details to claim the scholarship.
Moreover there is no contact no on their official site.

When will you declare the NTSE results? It is almost 4 months now. We are waiting eagerly for it. All other states have declared their respective results. Why are you so irresponsible?
I think it is because all works in Assam is done Lahe Lahe! Not to hurt the feelings, but it is already late and the 2nd level is in 8th may.

Education dept. of Assam , you should declare the results of NTSE stage I. Almost going to get completed 03 months. Students are eagerly waiting along with the anxious parents. So be positive. Please declare the results as soon as possible.

When are you going to give the results? Can I download my admit card again, because I forgot my number? By giving the result late you are going to show that Assam is not a developed state. I am not insulting the authority of Assam education department, rather I am just expressing my view. If hurts anyone I am sorry! I cannot say something different when everyone has the same opinion.
Why are the Stage-1 of NTSE Assam result so late? Such type of negligence is one of the reason of lagging behind other states which reflect on our inefficiency.

The authorities of ntse Assam are so stupid and irresponsible that they have taken the question paper of the exam from the candidates and are even not making the question papers available online. Question paper of ntse exam 2015-16 Assam should be made available online along with the answer key.
Moreover there were a few printing errors in the question paper. The authority should work on it.
