The National Talent Search Examination for students studying in Class X is meant to identify and nurture talent.

Who Can Apply?
All students of Class X studying in recognized schools are eligible to appear for the Stage -I examination, conducted by the States/UTs, in which the schools are located.
Students registered under Open Distance Learning (ODL) will also be eligible for scholarship, provided the student is below the age of 18 years (as on 15th July of the particular year), the student is not employed and s/he is appearing in class X examination for the first time
How to Apply?
Just follow the below steps to apply for the NTSE 2018-19.
Steps :
Step 1 : Go to the official website of Jharkhand Academic Council through the URL [https://jac-nts.com/]
Step 2 : If you are a new user click on the tab “Click Here to Register”. If you are already a registered user click on the tab “Click Here to Login”
Step 3 : Fill the required fields to complete the registration. Check entered details before clicking on the “SEND OTP” tab to submit the same
Step 4 : The system will send an OTP into the entered mobile number. Enter verification code (OTP) as received by you.
Step 5 : Click on the “Verify” button. Once verified click on the same to complete the registration process
Step 6 : Upon successful registration a confirmation screen opens up marking completion of the registration process
Step 7 : Next Login with your registered user id, password and fill up the further details to complete the application process

Exam Pattern
You have to take the examination in TWO PARTS
(i) Part I : Part-I is confined to Mental Ability Test(MAT) consisting of 100 compulsory questions.
(ii) Part II : Part-II is confined to Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) consisting of 100 compulsory questions, 40 from Science, 40 from Social Studies and 20 from Mathematics.
** Time for Part-I is 1200 minutes and for Part-II is 120 minutes.
** Each question carries 1 (one) mark.
Amount of Scholarship
About One thousand scholarships are awarded for difference stages of education as follows
(a) Scholarship of Rs.1250/- per month for Class-XI to XII.
(b) Scholarship of Rs.2000/- per month for Undergraduates and Post-graduates.
(c) Amount of Scholarship for PhD. be fixed in accordance with the UGC norms.

Instructions
1.Candidate can collect the Admission Card from the concerned head of the School at least three days before the examination.
2. Reach the Examination Centre atleast half an hour before the commencement of the examination and occupy the seat that bears your Roll Number.
3. DO NOT take calculator, mobile, Mathematical & physical table or any other kind of ready reckoner to the examination hall.
4. The examination will be conducted in two sessions on the same day.
5. Write your Roll Number, as given in the Admission Card, on the Answer Sheet (O.M.R. Sheet) and on the cover page of the Question Booklet in the space provided.
6. All questions in the booklets are objective type, For each question FOUR possible answers are given, but one is correct. Your task is to find out the correct answer and mark your choice in the Answer Sheet.
7. You can keep photo copy of admission Card.
8. Students will have to bring the admission card otherwise will not be permitted to give the exam.
9. If there is any change in the residential postal address then necessarily inform to the head of the school, centre superintendent and S.I.E.R.T. through letter.
