WBMDFC Post Matric Scholarship

The West Bengal Minorities Development & Finance Corporation invites online application for meritorious students belonging to minority communities (i.e. Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, Sikh, Zoroastrian and Jain) for the year 2018-19.

Eligibility Criteria

** Students must be a citizen of India and domicile of West Bengal.
** Students pursuing Higher Secondary, ITI, Diploma, UG, PG, M.Phil, B.Ed etc. courses are eligible.
** Annual family income of the applicant should not exceed Two lakhs.

** Last Date to Submission of Online applications for Fresh scholarship by students – 30th September,2018
** Last Date to Submission of Online applications for Renewal scholarship by students – 30th September,2018

How to Apply?

Eligible students are to apply online at National Scholarship Portal. Just follow the below steps to apply for the Post Matric Scholarship Fresh & Renewal 2018-19.

Steps :
Step 1 : Go to the official website of National Scholarship Portal
Step 2 : For Fresh Registration students click on the New Registration link in the home page and Fill the required details to complete your Registration.

Step 3 : For Renewal case, Students Click the Login link and enter your Application Id, Password, Captcha image for Login. Then complete your renewal process.

Note :
Students in receipt of Scholarship amount in 2017-18 and having a permanent ID must apply under RENEWAL category only.

Reason for Rejection :
Possible grounds for rejecting an application :
1) If student is Non-Minority.
2) If he/she has obtained marks less than 50% in previous class
3) If Annual income is more than the maximum limit (In case of Pre-Matric less than & equal to 1 lac and in case of Post-Matric annual income less than and equal to 2 lacs)

Conditions For Scholarship

** The award will be discontinued if a student fails to secure 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination.
** Scholarship will not be awarded for more than the normal period of time taken to obtain Certificate/Degree/M. Phil Degree/Doctorate Degree.

** Scholarships will not be given to more than two students in a family
** The students should be regular in attendance for which the yardstick will be decided by the competent authority of the school/college/university.

** Course fee/tuition fee and maintenance allowance will be credited directly to the students’ bank account.
** The fund for distribution of scholarships in subsequent years will be released after receiving the utilization certificate for the previous year.

** The student obtaining benefits under this scholarship scheme shall not be allowed to avail of benefits of the scholarship under the scheme.

** If a student is found to have obtained a scholarship by false statement/certificates, his/her scholarship will be cancelled forthwith and the amount of the scholarship paid shall be recovered, at the discretion of the concerned State Government/Union Territory Administration.
