Applications are invited for Junior Talent Search & Senior Talent Search Examination for year 2018.

Eligibility

Junior Exam:
Students who have passed 10th standard examination in 201b with minimum 75% marks / equivalent C.G.P.A. (in aggregate) and currently studying in class XI in science stream (with at least 3 subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Statistics, Computer Science) in any school in West Bengal

Senior Exam:
Any Indian National who has passed the Higher Secondary or equivalent examination in the year of application (i.e. , current year ) and is studying B.Sc.(Hons.), Engineering or Medicine at undergraduate level in any institution, registered in West Bengal.

Scholarship Offered

Junior Exam:
** A scholarship of Rs. 1000/- per month for two years (class XI and XII).
** Annual book grant of Rs. 2500/-.
** Exposures to seminars and workshops designed for the young scholars.

Senior Exam:
** A scholarship of Rs. 3000/- p.m. till M.B.B.S. for the students of medicine and till B.E. / B.Tech for the students of engineering.
** The selected scholars from basic science shall automatically be entitled to the DST-INSPIRE scholarship of Rs. 80,000/- p.a. till M.Sc.
** Annual Book Grant of Rs. 2000/- p.a. for the scholars.
** Academic and Career Counseling.
** Participation in Seminars and Colloquia.
** Travel & Enrichment Programs.
** Project Work.

How To Apply?

Application form fill up for Junior Talent Search & Senior Talent Search Examination shall be started on 1st June 2018 & will be continued till 5th August 2018. Corresponding application form & relevant details will be available in this website soon.

The dates of application, examination etc. are advertised in leading newspapers after the results of 10th and Higher Secondary examination (West Bengal) is declared. Application form and the admit card may be downloaded from the website. It may also be obtained by post or from the office.

Steps :
1. For online applications, student must have a valid email ID and this email ID can be used for filling the application form for once only. Successful submission of application & corresponding admit card related information shall be intimated to this email ID only.
2. Students could pay application fee for online application only.

3. Payment Modes
Online payment of application fee can be made, using the following modes
a) Net Banking
b) Debit Card
c) Credit Card
d) Wallet

Students have to pay the transaction / service charges as applicable for the merchant banks for online payments.

Application Fee

Senior Exam:
Application fee for JBNSTS Senior Talent Search Examination and Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti are Rs. 200.00 plus Bank and payment gateway charges as applicable.

Junior Exam:
Application fee for JBNSTS Junior Talent Search Examination of JBNSTS is Rs. 100.00 plus Bank and payment gateway charges as applicable.

Refund / Cancellation Policy :
Fee once paid will not be refunded. However, if there is any excess payment for any reason whatsoever, the student may file his/her claim with the Director, Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search at jbnsts@jbnsts.org.

Scholarship Test

Junior Exam:
** It is a bi-phasic test involving written test (1st Phase) and Interview (Final Phase).
** On the basis of the performance of written test, short listed candidates are selected for interview.
** Finally, on the basis of the performance of both written test and interview, a list of Junior scholars is announced.

Senior Exam:
** It is a three phased test involving written test (1st phase), Interview (2nd phase) and Scientific Creativity Test (3rd and Final phase).
** Only the short listed students from each phase are called for the next phase.

** Results will be declared after every phase of examination.
