Merck India Charitable Trust Scholarship Programme:
Seven years, over 200 Scholars, countless dreams…
Update : Merck India Charitable Trust MICT Scholarship Program 2018-19 : www.scholarships.net.in/26165.html
The Merck India Charitable Trust (MICT) was established as an educational trust in 2005 by Merck [India]. The objective was simple: to encourage talented under-privileged students to pursue higher education; by sponsoring their key educational expenses for as long as they wish to study and thereby preventing them from dropping out of academics due to lack of resources.
Eligibility Criteria:
Students who:
** Have successfully passed Std. X (SSC) with a minimum overall score of 80%.
** Have family income less than Rs.10000/- per month.
** Currently reside and study in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane area only.
Scholarship:
** Every student receives a scholarship of a fixed amount, per year upon the submission of authentic invoices/bills to be utilised towards payment of academic and tuition fees and stationery expenses.
** MICT can decide to stop the scholarship if a Scholar’s grades consistently fall over a period of time despite notifications to the Scholars about rectifying the same.
Selection Process:
** Invitations for applications are made every year around the time the SSC Examination results are to be declared.
** Applications are screened on the basis of the eligibility criteria stated.
** The applicant, accompanied by a parent/guardian, goes through 2 rounds of interviews.
** Candidates who make it through Round 1 are interviewed by the Board of Trustees, who select the students best qualifying for the scholarship on the basis of the eligibility criteria as well as their assessment of the students’ ability and drive to study further.
** The decision of the Board of Trustees is final and no further disputes would be entertained.
What makes the MICT Scholarship unique is that this not a one-time funding. When a student becomes a MICT Scholar s/he is getting an opportunity of a lifetime because through MICT, Merck will assist the student for as long as s/he wishes to study. In so doing, our aim is to alleviate the economic concerns facing the student enabling her/him to focus on the studies and continuing to excel at them.

I wanted to know about the form fee. How much does form cost?
Does Merk India selected their shortlisted students on basis of aptitude test held in August?
