Post Matric Scholarship:
Post-matric Scholarship is sanctioned to the Other Backward Classes students studying in different post –graduate course in Kuvempu University.
The post matric scholarship is awarded at the rates cited below:
i) For MA., M.Sc., M.Com, MSW, LLM, M.Ed., M.P.Ed. etc. Rs.400/-p.s./p.a.
ii) For professional courses like MBA,MCA Rs.500/-p.s./p.a.
Procedure:
After receiving the required number of prescribed application forms from by the Other Backward Classes Extension Officer through the Taluk Panchayath of the concerned Taluks, the Convenor and Chairman of the Departments will distribute the applications to the eligible students and then collect the duly filled in application forms along with relevant documents and submit to the Backward Classes Extension Officer of the Taluk Panchayath within the stipulated time. These filled in applications will be scrutinized and the documents will be verified according to rules and then the eligible students will be sanctioned the post-matric scholarship. After sanction, the scholarship amount will be received through the consolidated cheque along with a list of awardees. Further the Convenor of the cell will disburse the scholarship amount to each student through individual cheque, obtaining their signature on the stamped aquittance roll which should be later sent to the Backward Classes Extension Officer of the concerned Taluk Panchayath for record purpose.
Eligibility:
All Other Backward Classes students studying in different post-graduate courses who satisfy the conditions specified below are eligible for this benefit .
1. The student should belong to either of the Categories of Other Backward Classes as enumerated in G.O. dt; 30-3-2002.
2. The annual income of the parents/guardians of the students belonging to Cat-I, IIA, IIB, IIIA & IIIB of Backward Classes shall not exceed Rs.11,000/- P.A. However, no income limit is fixed to students belonging to Cat-I of Backward Classes.
3. The students should not be the recipients of any other kind of scholarship except Merit Scholarship.
4. The student should not be the inmates of any Government or Government aided hostels.
5. The scholarship applications should be duly filled and submitted in the prescribed format along with the relevant enclosures (documents) within the last date fixed. The applications received beyond last date/ incomplete applications/applications without relevant enclosures will not be considered.
Documents required:
1. Attested Caste Certificate (in respect of Cat-I students)
2. Attested Caste & Income certificate in respect of the students belonging to categories other than Cat-I of Backward Classes.
3. Attested Marks Card copies of the previous year’s examination.
