JEE Main 2018 is conducted by CBSE. Date of exam are 8 April 2018 (pen and paper based), 15 and 16 April 2018 (computer based). JEE Main 2018 information brochure is now available which contains detailed information of the Joint Entrance Examination (Mains) for admission to BE/B.Tech, B.Arch / B.Plan courses.
JEE Main 2018 Application Form will be available online from 1 December 2017. Candidates can apply until last date which is 1 January 2018. Eligibility criteria to appear in JEE Mains as well as for admission to participating institutes should be checked before applying.
It is important to keep in mind that the Central Board of Secondary Education is responsible from conduct of exam to declaration of result / rank. FAQs :
How to select date of online exam?
You can select date of online exam at the time of filling application form. Allotment of slot is on first-come-first-serve basis. If you do not select any slot during registration then CBSE will allot a random slot to you.
In which language will the JEE Main 2018 Question Paper be set?
Language of question papers will be English, Hindi. However, for exam in centres at Gujarat, Daman and Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, question paper languages will be English, Hindi, Gujarati. Candidates need to exercise option of question paper language at time of filling application form.
Will there be special provisions for persons with disabilities?
Yes. Candidates who are visually challenged with more than 40% disability will get scribe / reader on request of candidate. They must have submitted request to superintendent at least two days prior to exam. Also candidates with more than 40% disability will get one hour compensatory time.
Can I use calculator in JEE Mains?
No. You cannot use calculator or any communication aid. Also you cannot use log tables, book, notebook.
If I am eligible for JEE Main, am I automatically also eligible for JEE Advanced?
No. you need to check eligibility criteria of JEE Advanced 2018 to verify whether you are eligible for JEE Adv 2018 or not.
Who will prepare ranking for admission to institutes other than those under Joint Seat Allocation?
Such participating institutes that do not use centralized Seat Allocation Process will prepare their own ranking on basis of performance of candidate in JEE Main 2018 and other criteria decided by them.
I have passed QE in one state and improvement in another state; what will be my State of Eligibility?
In this case the state of eligibility is from where you have originally passed class 12 exam.
I have passed QE institution abroad; what will be my State of Eligibility?
Your state of eligibility is determined by the permanent address mentioned in your passport.
Are NIOS candidates eligible to appear in JEE Main 2018?
Yes. NIOS candidates must select that state (of eligibility) according to state in which study centre is located.
What are the bank charges applicable on application fee?
Additional charges to the tune of 1.2% of examination fee plus GST is applicable for credit card, and 0.75% plus GST for examination fee upto Rs 2000 and 1% plus GST for exam fee more than Rs 2000 through debit card.
