Junior Scholarship

Providing scholarships and academic assistance to students who are determined to improve their lives through education. Assistance is available to any qualified student, irrespective of the applicant’s caste, community, gender or religion.

Application Procedure

** The initial application process is conducted through the administration of the school in correlation with the AIMS Foundation.
** Candidates are required to produce duly certified supporting documents.
** The next round of the selection process is the interview round with the candidate along with her parents.
** A home visit will be scheduled once the interview is conducted.

Eligibility Criteria

** Age limit: Maximum 13 years
** Family total annual income not to exceed Rs.1,25,000/- per annum
** Minimum 60 % marks in standard 4th, 5th and 6th standard, or B grade in latest comprehensive assessment in standard 6th
** Scholarship is subject to continuation if the candidate passes in all subjects and secures minimum 60% marks or B grade in comprehensive assessment in standards 7th to 10th, 60% marks in standards 11th and 12th, and qualifies for 3 years graduation scholarship in her chosen field.
** Continuation of the scholarship also depends on the participation of the candidates in the various development activities organized by the foundation.

Note:
Scholarships are awarded on an annual basis; renewal of scholarship is based on the student’s continued academic excellence and financial need. The AIMS Foundation primarily looks at the consistency in the student’s academic performance; academic criteria are reviewed periodically by the foundation and are solely at the discretion of the Foundation Management.

The AIMS Foundation funds the most determined students and helps them pursue the best education in India. The poor have limited chances to pursue their dreams because of two major limitations: the lack of resources in the government schools in which they are studying and the level of tuition and other fees in professional colleges.

However, the earning potential of these professions is very high thus allowing the student to help his/her family financially, lifting the whole family out of the poverty trap. Upon completion of studies, students are able to obtain gainful employment, start own businesses or pursue other careers.

The student becomes a role model in the community inspiring others to pursue the path of higher education. In other words, the multiplier effect on the society of enabling a determined child to become a high income earning professional is considerable.

Each scholarship recipient from AIMS makes a pledge to support at least two more students once he/she has the capacity to do so. This pledge provides a built in mechanism for the future sustainability of the scholarship program.
