NTSE Exam :
SCERT Punjab shall be conducting the State level Talent Search Examination for the year 2017-2018 on 05 November 2017. National Level Examination will be coducted by N.C.E.RT., New Delhi on 13 May 2017.

Scholarships :
About One thousand scholarships are awarded for different stages of education as follows:
(a) Scholarship of Rs.1250/- per month for Class-XI to XII.
(b) Scholarship of Rs.2000/- per month for Undergraduates and Post-graduates.
(c) Amount of Scholarship for Ph.D. be fixed in accordance with the UGC norms.
Eligibility:
Any regular student of 10th standard shall be eligible to appear in the NTSE.
Eligibility Marks To Apply :
55% for General & 45% For SC/ST candidates in 9th standard annual examination.
Reservation:
As per National Reservation Norms there will be 15% reservation for SC, 7.5% for ST and 3% reservation for Physically challenged Group of Candidates i.e. 1% for each group namely hearing, physically and visually challenged group of students irrespective of caste category (General, SC, ST).
It is necessary for the candidate belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled tribe Category to attach the scaned attested copy of the certificate regarding reserve caste issued by SDM/Tehsildar at the time of filling the PP form.
Candidates belonging to physically challenged group of children must attach the attested copy of certificate issued by the competent authority stating that the child suffer from 40% or more as per the P.W.D. act 1995 disability and that the disability is of permanent/ temporary nature.
Selection:
Stage-I, selection will be done by States/UTs and those who qualify Stage- I, will be eligible to appear for Stage-II examination, conducted by NCERT.
Qualifying Marks:
Qualifying marks for candidates from General category is 40% in each paper and for candidates from SC, ST, PH is 35% in each paper.
Language Test :
Qualifying in nature and marks obtained for Language Test will not be counted for final merit

Government:
A Government school is that which is run by the State Government or Central Government or Public Sector Undertaking or an Autonomous Organization completely financed by the Government.
Local Body:
A Local Body school is that which is run by Panchayati Raj and Local Body institution such as Zilla Parishad, Municipal Corporation, Municipal Committee and Notified Area Authority Committee and Cantonment Board.
Private Aided:
A Private Aided school is that which is run by an individual or a private organization and receives grant from Government or Local Body.
Private Unaided:
A Private Unaided School is that which is managed by an individual or a private organization and does not receive any grant either from Government or Local Body.
