AFEWS Scholarship Scheme :

Armed Forces Educational Welfare Scheme (AFEWS). As a gesture of appreciation and salutation to our Defense forces who are always there to protect our borders and our lives, Chandigarh University has devised a Reservation cum Fee Waiver Scheme for Defense Personnel and their wards. This scheme is also a part of our social responsibility towards special sections of our society.

5% seats in all courses of Chandigarh University shall be reserved for the wards of Defense Martyrs, their immediate dependent members and all Defense personal serving and retired, their spouse and wards in the following manner.

Priority In Reservation :
Order of priority under the scheme :
** War widows and wards of war causalities.
** War injured and released defense personnel, spouses and their wards.
** War disabled defense personnel, getting super-annuated, spouses and their wards.
** Wards of serving defense personnel.
** Wards of retired defense personnel.

Benefits of Scholarship:
** Scholarship equivalent to 15% Semester fee for the war widows and wards of war causalities, war injured and released defense personnel, spouse and their wards, war disabled defense personnel, getting super-annuated, spouse and their wards.
** Scholarship equivalent to 10% Semester fee for the wards of serving and retired defense personnel.

Officers on study leave:
In service defense officers who want to take up the courses during their study leave will be separately offered 1% seats subject to minimum of 1 seat in each course. Scholarship will be given equivalent to 20% Semester fee.

Please Note :
** Maximum 10% of total seats in each Course shall be offered under the above scheme.
** The students admitted under the above scheme shall have to maintain a minimum of 7.5 CGPA marks, absolute discipline, without any supplementary/compartments failing which the incentives given shall stand withdrawn.

Important Information:
** All the eligible students must apply for the scholarship at the time of seeking admission on the prescribed format available with the admission cell / registrar office (Scholarship Branch).
** Original documents for claiming the above mentioned scholarship are to be submitted to the scholarship branch on or before 31st August 2017, failing which, no scholarship request will be entertained under any circumstances.

Validity of the Scholarship:
Initial concession shall be valid for one academic session. Thereafter, continuation of the same shall be determined based on performance of the students as per the norms of the university.

Note:
** All eligible students can avail one scholarship at one time.
** None of the above-mentioned schemes applicable for Industry Collaborative Programs.
