Post Matric Scholarship To ST :
The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to the Scheduled tribe (Lepcha, Bhutia, Limboo and Tamang) students studying at post – matriculation or post – secondary stage to enable them to complete their education.
Duration : Scholarship will be provided for 10(ten) months in an academic year.
The scheme is entirely funded by Government of India.
Conditions for Eligibility:
Scholarship will be awarded to the students belonging to the state of Sikkim i.e. the students whose parents are permanently settled and the annual income of whose parents/guardian, from all sources does not exceed Rs.1.08 lakhs.
Rate of Scholarship (Maintenance Allowance):
Class – Rate
XI – XII – Rs. 1400/- p.a.
Degree/Eqv. – Rs. 1850/- p.a.
Med./Tech./Eng. – Rs. 3300/- p.a.
Renewal of Scholarship :
The scholarship is renewed every year on receipt of information from the head of the institutions or the students/parents that the students receiving the scholarship have passed the annual examination.
Documents to be submitted along with the application forms:
** Attested copy of Sikkim Subject / Certificate of Identification.
** ST Certificates.
** Copy of the mark sheet. (class last attended)
** Income Certificate: Attested copies of income certificate of the parents/certified copies of BPL card/ salary certificate of the parents in case of Government employees.
How to apply:
Application form for the scholarship can be obtained from the Office of the Welfare Officer of the concerned district or can be downloaded (click here to download) Application forms duly filled up with all requisite information along with supporting documents are accepted in the month of June-July every year.
Disbursement of scholarship:
The scholarship to eligible students will be disbursed through the heads of institutions before the close of the academic year.
iam one of the lower middle class background family till date whatever the application form i had submitted the forms to the welfare division didnt got single penny for the said scholarship from 2018-19. who is responsible for this purpose.
I had submitted all the required documents last year for my scholarship and my friends did that too. They have received their funds last month but I haven’t get it yet.
I have applied for the post metric minorities scholarship in the year 2016. All my friends have received the money. They got percentage lesser than 55%. But till date I have not received any information regarding scholarship.
I have submitted all the required unattested documents. Will it be accepted? Office staff didn’t say anything even after checking all. I doubt whether whether they find it authentic or not. Please suggest me.
I applied for pre-matric scholarship for the year 2013-16 but the money is still not deposited in my account.
I think it is the serious matter of concern and we need to be aware of all those fake notification. People those who are there for our service due to their carelessness. I think lot more issue will be arised and we must need to look after it.
