Doctoral Fellowship :
Two years ‘Post Doctoral Fellowship’ Programme is aimed to develop human resource in Cognitive Sciences. The Scheme provides Opportunities to Young Scientists (below 40 years) for pursuing innovative research in frontier areas of Cognitive Science.

Programme Schedule:
Department invites Individual Project Proposals and application for Post Doctoral Fellowship once in a year through advertisement in all leading Newspapers and DST website.
Mega projects for intensified research in particular area are supported under top-down approach in discussion with DST and stakeholders. Proposals for conducting Schools /Conferences are open throughout the year and considered on request.
Objectives:
Cognitive Science Research Initiative is aimed to revolutionize research in various fields, such as:
** Nature and origins of mental disorders, of physiological, social and neuro-chemical origins.
** Design of better learning tools and educational paradigms.
** Design of better software technologies and artificial intelligence devices.
** Streamlining of social policy formulation and analysis.
Thrust Areas:
Cognitive science has wide horizons which covers different aspects of cognition. DST has identified specific thrust areas in Cognitive Science which include Foundations of Cognition; Language and Cognition; Computational Intelligence; Cognitive Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience etc.
Applications are invited for the award of “CSRI-Post-Doctoral Fellowship” for pursuing research in frontier areas of Cognitive Science. The fellowship is tenable for 2 years in Research Institutions/Universities/Non-profit R&D Institutions within India and cannot be availed at the same institution from where the candidates have earned their PhD degree.
Each fellow would be entitled to a Fellowship of Rs.55,000/- per month and research Contingency Grant of Rs.2,00,000/- per year.
Eligibility:
Applicants with good academic record and holding a PhD or equivalent degree in Science, Engineering and allied areas of Cognitive Science are eligible for CSRI-PDF. Those who have submitted Ph.D thesis are also eligible to apply. The upper age limit for ‘CSRI-Post Doctoral Fellowship’ of DST is 40 years.
How to apply:
DST has started e-PMS (onlinedst.gov.in) for online submission of research proposal. Principal Investigator has to register at this portal and then upload the proposal in the given format. Application Format of “CSRI-Post Doctoral Fellowship (CSRI-PDF)” is available on e-PMS under KIRAN Division and at DST website.
Two (2) hardcopies of submitted research proposal should also be sent to Dr Vandana Singh, Scientist, Department of Science and Technology, Technology Bhawan, New Mehrauli Road, New Delhi-110016, by Speed Post. The envelope should be superscribed with “CSRI-PDF”.
Last Date of Submission for both (i) & (ii): 30 June 2017.
