1) Who is eligible for J&K PMSSS Scholarship?:
Eligibility criteria under the J&K PMSSS Scholarship scheme:
1. Domicile- Must be domicile of J&K.
2. Education-Must have passed 10+2 examination from J&K Board or CBSE school located in J&K.
3. Income-The family income from all sources for the Financial Year 2016-17 should not be more than Rs. 6.0 Lakh per annum.
4. Only those willing to study outside the State of J&K.
2) I have passed 10+2 in Commerce stream, am I eligible for engineering?:
Ans: No, but you are eligible for Commerce stream under General course approved by section 12(B) of U.G.C. Information is available at: https://www.aicte-india.org/.
3) I have submitted my application, is documents verification at Facilitation Centre is necessary?:
Yes, without documents verification at Facilitation Centre, student is not eligible for Scholarship. A list of Facilitation Centres are available in AICTE website.
4) Is attending counselling mandatory for eligible students for availing benefits under PMSSS?:
Yes, it is Mandatory for all the students to attend counselling in General/Engineering/Medical stream, who wants to take admission his/her own or through centralised counselling for availing benefits under the scheme.
5) I have passed 10+2 in science stream, am I eligible for Medical course under?:
Yes, there is no counselling for Medical Stream with Biology. However, the candidate who seeks admission in any of the courses in Medical Stream (MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, etc.) on his/her own merit within the sanctioned intake in any of the institutions recognized by the respective Regulatory Bodies & located outside the State of J&K is eligible to avail the benefit of scholarship under this scheme based on the merit at class 10+2 & after qualifying NEET examination.
The number of seats available under the medical stream & documents are to be verified in any of the facilitation centres. They also need to attend counselling for marking attendance only and showing admission proof.
6) I wish to pursue my studies in IIT/NIT/Centrally funded Institutions programs/Courses on my own without participating in J&K PMSSS counselling Process 2017-18. Am I eligible for J&K PMSSS scholarship?:
NO, any candidate who seeks admission in any of the IIT/NIT/Centrally funded programs/courses within the sanctioned intake located outside the State of J&K on his/her own merit is eligible to avail the benefit of Scholarship under this scheme based on the merit at class 10+2 and number of seats available under General / Engineering Stream and having their documents verified in any of the facilitation centres. They also need to attend counselling for marking attendance and showing admission proof.

Your organization is showing unnecessarily delay in providing scholarship funds to students and did not responding to their query even. This is really very criticizing.

I WANT TO CHANGE MY INSTITUTION DETAILS IN PMSSS PORTAL BECAUSE I HAVE TYPED WRONG DETAILS. HOW CAN I CHANGE THIS? PLEASE TELL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE IT IS IMPORTANT.
I have got admission in Dutta MEGHE college of Computer Engineering Mumbai, Thane and at the time of admission, the college authorities have taken Rs.10000 as caution money.Now they force me to submit Rs.26000 more. If I am able to do so then I do the same course at my own expenditure. If it is the rule of AICTE then it is impossible for me to study further, if not then please stop them to take more money as Rs.90000 given through PMSSS to the institute.
I want to share that, at the time of counselling AICTE had promised that they will pay academic fee to the college but college force me to pay the fee and I paid. But now in my login ID under fee detail there showing only some less academic fee amount, but AICTE is not mentioning the main fee, they only mention 1 category and they didn’t mention that they will not pay management fee which is under academic fee which is main fee, So kindly look towards my problem if you sort my problem then I shall be thankful to you.
Kindly provide the scholarship amount soon because my Institute force me to pay the semester fees.

Yes, you are eligible to apply in 2018 unless you should have not received any scholarship through PMSSS.
I am a student of 2016-17. Till I didn’t get my scholarship. What is the reason?
I belong to a poor family. I trusted AICTE but no alert received. In this case I took admission in Adesh group of institute which has more fee. I don’t afford this fee. It is difficult to pay my fee. We have very low income. My card is AAY.
