MBBS-BDS Scholarships:
Freeship:
The free ship will cover only the course fee payable for the particular course of study. The candidate will however be required to pay Rs. 11, 000 (Registration fee: Rs. 10,000 + Processing fee: Rs. 1,000) payable at the time of admission. The free ship will not cover the expenses such as hostel accommodation, books etc.

MBBS:
Candidates who have secured within the first 1,000 ranks in NEET 2016 examinations are offered 100% free ship.
BDS:
Candidates who have secured within the first 5,000 ranks in NEET 2016 examinations are offered 100% free ship.
Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship:
MBBS:
Candidates admitted with NEET 2016 Rank 1001 to 5000 are eligible for merit-cum-means scholarship
BDS:
Candidates admitted with NEET 2016 Rank 5001 to 10000 are eligible for merit-cum-means scholarship
Scholarship amount shall be determined based on the parents’ annual income (from all sources) as mentioned below:
Candidates are required to pay the appropriate first year course fee at the time of counseling. The excess amount paid shall be refunded after the counseling. Click here for course fees.
The MBBS program is being offered by Manipal University through its constituent premier institutions, namely, Kasturba Medical College, at Manipal and Mangalore, while the BDS program is offered by Manipal College of Dental Sciences at Manipal and Mangalore.
NOTE: Candidates are required to pay full first year course fee at the time of joining and the scholarship amount will be refunded after completion of the entire admission process.
FREESHIP :
Candidates who have secured within 1,000 rank for MBBS course and within 5,000 rank for BDS course are eligible for the 100 % freeship.
MERIT-CUM-MEANS SCHOLARSHIP :
Candidates with NEET all India Overall Rank 1001 to 5000 for MBBS course and 5001 to 10000 Rank for BDS course are eligible for merit-cum-means scholarship.
Candidate needs to pay a minimum of Rs.10,000/- or Course Fee after deducting scholarship amount whichever is higher. In addition, candidate needs to pay the refundable Caution Deposit of Rs. 10,000/-.
Eligible candidates should produce attested photocopy of the latest Income Tax (IT) return form for proof of parents’ income at the time of counseling/admission. Non-working parent should produce a notarized affidavit indicating that they are not employed.
The award of freeship & merit-cum-means scholarship for the subsequent years will be same as given at the time of admission in the first year. The percentage of scholarship amount will be constant throughout the course duration, irrespective of changes in income group. Continuation of scholarship for subsequent years will be based on academic performance of the students in the university exam as per the University rules.
