Samsung Star Scholar:

Samsung Star Scholar is set on supporting the scholastic dreams of 150 students through their journey of academic excellence. The program will award scholarship to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya students who passed Class 12th in 2016, on the basis of their merit at the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main).

Instructions:
1. When applying for scholarship, please make sure that you carefully read and understand the guidelines. If you do not meet the criteria for the scholarship, your application will not be considered.
2. This application form is for all first year students in B. Tech/Dual Degree (B.Tech+ M.Tech) course who have graduated from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya and who wish to apply for Samsung Star scholarship for the 2016-17 academic session.
3. Please complete the form clearly and in black or blue ink. All questions must be answered. Do not leave any section blank. If a section does not apply to you, please indicate that it is not applicable (N/A).
4. Scholarship entitlement for students will be considered via this application form only.
5. You need to submit only ONE application. It is your responsibility to make sure the scholarship application you submit is complete, with any supporting documentation or references required. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Once submitted, the application and its materials will not be returned.
6. Scholarship entitlement for student(s) will be certified by the Dean Academics office only.
7. Scholarship support is for expenses related to yearly tuition fee, hostel and mess charges (hostel and mess charges shall be limited to INR 36,000 annually and the entire amount of annual scholarship shall not exceed INR 2,00,000). All sums of money referred to must be in Indian Rupees (INR).
8. Scholarship funding depends on expenses as per category –SC/ST, OBC, PWD, GEN and OTHERS
9. We do not accept incomplete or late applications. Applications must be sent as a hard copy as well as through email. Applications should be emailed in .pdf format to star.scholars@samsung.com by the Last Date date of January 20, 2017 with all required documents attached.

10. Additionally original application form and signed receipts of documents should be sent by Speed Post to:

11. Applicants will be notified as to whether they have received a scholarship after February 27, 2017.

12. Your scholarship application must include the following for all scholarships:
a. Completed Application Form, with self attested photograph. The Application Form has to be certified and signed by Dean Academics.
b. Self-certified clear copy of Class X and XII CBSE marks statement.
c. Self-certified clear copy of JEE (Main) ranking certificate
d. Self-certified clear copy of Final admission letter from the Institute.
e. Original copy for admission/first semester/annual fee receipt deposited at Institute, attested and verified by the Institute’s Dean Academic.
f. A signed cancelled cheque of the bank account in which the Scholarship amount has to be deposited.
g. Self-certified clear copy of address proof – Aadhaar Card will only be considered.
h. Self-certified clear copy of PAN Card (mandatory).
i. Provide a brief write up on why you are a qualified candidate for a scholarship and how you will be impacted if chosen.

13. The Application form and all the other documents of Applicants who have not completed eighteen years of age must be counter signed by their respective legal guardians on the New Scholarship Application Form. In the alternative, for constraint of meeting the Last Date of the application, parent(s) / legal guardian(s) shall submit the Declaration as contained in Annexure II of the Rule Book, which must be submitted in original prior to February 10, 2017.

14. Please keep a copy of your completed form for your records in case the original copy gets misplaced.
