** National Talent Search Examination (First Level) is conducted by Directorate of Government Examinations, A.P., Hyderabad as per directions of NCERT, New Delhi every year in the month of November along with NMMS Examination.
** All students in the state who are studying X Standard in any of the recognized schools can write the examination.
** The number of scholarships will be allocated by NCERT every year. The candidates will be selected to the Second Level basing on the merit and as per the reservation norms given by NCERT.
** 1000 candidates every year are being selected in Second Level Examination all over the country.
** Scholarship will be paid by the NCERT, New Delhi. Rs.1250/- per month for Intermediate 1st and 2nd years. Rs.2000/- per month up to Post Graduation. For Ph.D as per UGC norms.
Examination :
It comprises two parts, namely (i) Mental Ability Test (MAT) and (ii) Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) covering social sciences, sciences and mathematics of classes VII & VIII. MAT. &SAT will have 90 multiple choice questions each and each question will carry one mark. 30 minutes extra per each session will be provided for Physically disabled candidates.
Merit List :
Merit list of candidates will be prepared for each District separately. The minimum qualifying marks for each paper will be 40% for General, 35% for BC category and 25% for SC/ST / Physically disabled to be eligible for award of scholarship.

Directorate of Government Examinations is an independent department functioning under ministry of secondary education, Government of Andhra Pradesh. The department is responsible for conducting the SSC/OSSC Public Examinations and a number of minor examinations.
DGE’s office conducts SSC/OSSC examinations twice in a year. This is the major examination with a registration of 6.52 lakh candidates for Annual (March -2015) examinations and 0.75 lakh candidates for Advanced Supplementary Examinations(May / June -2015)
