Kanyashree Prakalpa Scholarship
Kanyashree Prakalpa – a conditional cash transfer scheme with the aim of improving the status and well being of the girl child in West Bengal by incentivizing schooling of all teenage girls and delaying their marriages until the age of 18, the legal age of marriage.

Objectives
The scheme aims at improving the status and well being of girl child by :
** Discouraging early marriage of girls.
** Scholarships provide the continuation of education of the girl child in Secondary and Higher Secondary classes and those undergoing vocational training or sports training.
** Improving IMR and MMR by delaying the age of marriage and consequently increasing the median age of first birth
** Reducing the incidence of drop outs, especially amongst girls from poor families.
** Eradicating undernutrition and mal-nutrition of girl child.
** Preventing trafficking and exploitation of the girl child.
One Time Password :
One-Time Password (OTP) Authentication products generate highly secure one-time passwords ensuring that only properly authenticated users are authorized access to critical applications and data.
Procedure
** After successful login, the user will be prompt to update the contact details for the first time. The Update Now button will be redirect to the “One Time Signup Form”
** The “One Time Signup Form” contains Name, Designation, Mobile Number and Designation. The respective user must fill-up the details.
** A One Time accessible password will be sent to the user’s mobile number which is captured in the previous form.
** User will get an SMS with verification code.
** User has to put the code in the blank text field which is asking for OTP on the computer screen.
** On successful verification of mobile number, the user will be redirected to the change password page for change the default password.
** The user can set his/her desired password from this section. User must maintain the password policy for update the password successfully.
FAQs
1. Do I need to apply for the Annual Scholarship every year?
No, you do not need to apply for the annual scholarship every year. Once you have enrolled in the Annual Scholarship Scheme, in successive years (till you turn age 18) your Head Teacher will renew your scholarship for you.
At the time of renewal, you will however, have to give a written statement to your Head Teacher declaring that you are still unmarried. However, once you turn 18 and are eligible for the One-Time Grant – the process is not automatic.
You need to fill up the One-Time grant application form and provide all the necessary certificates and signatures and submit them to the institution you are currently studying in.
2. What is my Kanyashree ID, and why is it important?
Once your application is uploaded on the Kanyashree Portal, a unique identification number is created for you. This number, along with your Form Identification no. is used to track your application on the portal
