CU Scholarships :

As a tribute to our Armed forces, the University has devised a unique scheme for reserving seats in all courses for the wards of Indian Defense personnel of different categories. Wards admitted under the aforementioned scheme will also be given tuition fee waiver.

Armed Forces Educational Welfare Scheme:
** As a gesture of appreciation and salutation to our Defence forces who are always there to protect our borders and our lives, Chandigarh University has devised a Reservation cum Fee Waiver Scheme for Defence Personnel and their wards.
** This scheme is also a part of our social responsibility towards special sections of our society.
** AFEWS is a unique scheme for reserving seats in all courses for the wards of Indian Defence personnel of different categories.
** Wards of different categories of defence personnel admitted under the above scheme will also be given benefit of free -ship in prescribed tuition fee.
** 5% seats in all courses of Chandigarh University shall be reserved for the wards of Defence Martyrs, their immediate dependent members and all defence personal serving and retired, their spouse and wards in the following manner.

Priority In Reservation:
Order of priority under the scheme:-
** War widows and wards of war causalities.
** War injured and released defence personnel, spouses and their wards.
** War disabled defence personnel, getting super-annuated, spouses and their wards.
** Â Wards of serving defence personnel.
** Wards of retired defence personnel.

Benefits of Scholarship:
Scholarships shall be as follows:-
** Scholarship equivalent to 15% Tuition fee for the war widows and wards of war causalities, war injured and released defence personnel, spouse and their wards, war disabled defence personnel, getting super-annuated, spouse and their wards.
** Scholarship equivalent to 10%Tuition Fee for the wards of serving and retired defence personnel.

Officers on study leave:
In service defence officers who want to take up the courses during their study leave will be separately offered 1% seats subject to minimum of 1 seat in each course.
Scholarship will be given equivalent to 20% Tuition Fee.

Note:-
** Maximum 10% of total seats in each Course shall be offered under the above scheme.
** The students admitted under the above scheme shall have to maintain a minimum of 75%Â (7.5 CGPA) marks, absolute discipline, without any supplementary/compartments failing which the incentives given shall stand withdrawn.

Procedure For Applying:
** All the eligible students have to apply for the scholarship at the time of seeking admission on the prescribed format available with the admission cell / registrar office (Scholarship Branch).
** Original documents for claiming the aforesaid scholarship are to be submitted to the scholarship branch on or before 31st August 2016, failing which, no scholarship request will be entertained under any circumstances.

Validity of the Scholarship:
Initial concession shall be valid for one academic session. Thereafter, continuation of the same shall be determined on the basis of performance of the students as per the norms of the university.
