What is Dempo Charities Trust Scholarships?

Dempo Charities Trust DCT Scholarships 2024 is sponsored by Dempo Charities Trust. The applicant must have obtained admission to any postgraduate, research or professional programme in Goa. The family income is less than 5.00 lakhs Per Annum. Applications shall be received online only. Last Date of Scholarship is 15th October 2024.

Objective of DCT Scholarships

** Every year the Dempo Charities Trust earmarks a special scholarship fund for disbursement to meritorious students pursuing higher and professional education.
** The objective of the DCT Scholarships is to provide financial assistance to meritorious Goan students, to help them pursue postgraduate, research or professional education in Goa, or in eminent institutions located in other states of India.

Eligibility of DCT Scholarships

** The applicant must have obtained admission to any postgraduate, research or professional programme in Goa or in any institution of repute in India during the academic year 2024-25.
** The applicant should not be a recipient of any other scholarship/freeship from the Central/State government or from any other source.
** Goan students who have enrolled in foreign colleges/universities are not eligible to apply under this Scheme.

How To Apply for DCT Scholarships?

** The Scheme shall be notified on the institutional website www.dempos.com and in local dailies on 15-09-2024. Applications shall be received online during the period from 15-09-2024 to 15-10-2024.

** The candidates shall be required to submit the application online and upload scanned copies of the following documents:
a. Letter of Admission to the postgraduate/research/professional programme for the academic year 2024-25.
b. Receipt towards Tuition Fee paid by the applicant for the academic year 2024-25.
c. Statement of Marks of the preceding Board/University examination.
d. Certificate of Family Income for the preceding year, i.e, 2023-24, issued by competent government authority, if the family income is less than 5.00 lakhs p.a.
e. Income Tax Returns for the preceding year, i.e. 2023-24, if the income exceeds Rs.5.00 lakhs p.a.

** The Trust shall be entitled to seek further information from an applicant, if deemed necessary.
** The applicants are not required to submit a print copy of their application. They should, however, ensure that all documents are uploaded along with the online application.
** Invalid/incomplete documents may lead to disqualification of a candidate.

Selection Of Awardees for DCT Scholarships

** A Committee appointed by the Trust shall scrutinize the applications and shall recommend to the Trustees a list of candidates for award of the Scholarship for the year 2024-25.
** The final selection shall be based on a ranking matrix that will include parameters such as family income, nature of the academic programme, past performance of the candidate, national ranking of the institution in which the applicant is enrolled, etc.
** Up to 50% of the scholarships shall be earmarked for girl students.
** The amount of scholarship shall cover only TUITION FEE as approved by the University/ Institution concerned, either in full or in part, as per the recommendations of the Committee.
** The decision of the Trust in determining the total amount to be disbursed every year by way of scholarship, in selection of the candidates, and in the quantum of scholarship per candidate, shall be final and binding.
** The list of candidates selected for award of DCT Scholarships 2024 shall be displayed on the institutional website.
