What is SCERT Himachal Pradesh NMMSS Examination?
“National Means cum Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) Examination” 2024-25 is sponsored by SCERT, Solan (H.P). Under this scheme a scholarship of Rs.I000/- per month is awarded to 832 students of Himachal Pradesh. NMMSS Examination 2024-25 to be conducted on 10-11-2024 at 65 examinations centers of the state. No Fee will be charged from the candidates. Last Date of Scholarship is 31st August 2024.
Eligibility Criteria of NMMSS Examination
1. Any student, studying in class VIII in a Govt. /Local Body /95% Govt-aided private school for the session 2024-25, whose parental annual income from all sources is not more than Rs. Three Lakh Fifty Thousand only (3,50,000/-) is eligible to appear in this exam. Candidates have to attach relevant income certificate from competent authority in standard formats.
2. He/She must have scored at least 55% marks in class VII. There is, however, a relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST students. Candidates applying under reserved categories have to attach relevant certificates from competent authority in standard formats.
3. The candidates applying under PCG category (Physically Challanged Group) will have to attach relevant certificates from competent authority in standard formats.
4. He/She will be awarded the scholarship for the next four years i.e. Class IX to XII, only if he/she continues to study in a Govt. /Local Body /95% Govt-aided-private school.
5. The awardees should get minimum of 60% marks in class X for continuation of scholarship (relaxable by 5% for SC/ST candidates) in next higher classes. For continuing the scholarship in class X and XII , the awardees should get clear promotion from class IX to class X and from class XI to class XII in the first attempt.
Format of NMMSS Examination
Examination will comprise of two tests :
Test Type : Mental Ability Test (MAT)

** There will be no negative marking.
** At the time of selection for the award of scholarship the student must pass both the tests i.e MAT and SAT with at least 40% marks in aggregate taken together for these two tests for general category. For the reserved category this cut off will be 32% marks.
How to Apply for NMMSS Examination?
** The link for on line application form and registration for NMMSS examination will be available from 01st August, 2024 onwards on the official website of SCERT himachalservices.nic.in/scert and scerthp.org
** School Registration is Mandatory Every Year
** The applicants are strongly advised to apply online well in time without waiting for the last date of submission of online application.
** Principal/ Head of the Institution will have to get the School registered by sending the following details at scertnmmsexam[AT]gmail.com from 01st August, 2024 onwards:

ii. Name of the School (Please write GMS/GHS/GMSSS/GSSS/GBSSS/GGSSS)
iii. Complete address of the School/Institution

v. PIN Code

** Candidates are advised to fill the examination centre carefully while applying online for NMMSS examination 2024-25. Once allotted, change of examination centre will not be entertained under any circumstances.
