What is Legrand Empowering Scholarship Program?
Legrand Empowering Scholarship Program 2024-25 is sponsored by Group Legrand India. Open for girl students across India only. Its aims to provide financial support to meritorious girls, differently-abled girls, Covid-affected students, LGBTQ+ students and students with single parents or orphans for their higher education. Under this program, academically promising girl students pursuing B.Tech., B.E., B.Arch., or other undergraduate degrees in Finance or Science will receive 60% of the annual course fee, up to INR 60,000 per year. Last Date of Scholarship is 15th July 2024.
Eligibility of Legrand Empowering Scholarship Program
General Category Application :
** Open for girl students across India only.
** Applicants must have secured admission in B.Tech., B.E., B.Arch., B.B.A., B.Com., or B.Sc. degrees in India.
** Applicants must have passed Class 12 in the year 2023–24.
** Applicants must have secured a minimum of 70% and above marks in Classes 10 and 12 examinations.
** Annual family income of the applicant from all sources must be less than INR 5,00,000.
Special Category Application :
** Open to differently-abled girl students, LGBTQ+ students, Covid-affected students and students with single parents or orphans across India.
** Applicants must have secured admission in B.Tech., B.E., B.Arch., B.B.A., B.Com., or B.Sc. degrees in India.
** Applicants must have passed Class 12 in the year 2023–24.
** Applicants must have secured 60% marks in Classes 10 and 12 examinations. Exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
** Annual family income of the applicant from all sources must be less than INR 5,00,000.
Benefits of Legrand Empowering Scholarship
General Category Application : 60% of annual course fees up to INR 60,000 per year (whichever is less) till the completion of the course will be provided to girl students based on their academic performance.
Special Category Application : 80% of annual course fees up to INR 1,00,000 per year (whichever is less) till the completion of the course will be awarded to the special category* students based on academic performance.

The applicants are required to attach the following documents:
** Photo ID Card
** Age-proof (Birth Certificate, Aadhaar Card, Passport, Class 10 school leaving certificate)
** Aadhaar Card (If Aadhaar Card is not available, an equivalent document for proof of address)
** Class 10th and 12th marksheet
** Family Income Certificates or Form 16 of parents/ bank statements of the last six months
** Bank account details of the applicant (or parent)
** Passport-size photograph of the applicant
** Proof of admission or college/university fee receipt for the current academic year

FAQ on Legrand Empowering Scholarship Program
What is the scholarship award, and how will it be disbursed?
There are two categories of students among which the amount will be disbursed:
Generic category: All meritorious and deserving girl students.
Scholarship award amount – 60% of the course fee up to the limit of 60,000/- (whichever is less) per annum until the completion of the course.
Special category: Differently-abled girl students, LGBTQ+ students, Covid-affected students, and students with single parents or orphans.
Scholarship award amount – 80% of the course fee up to the limit of 1,00,000/- (whichever is less) per annum until the completion of the course.
Each year, the eligible scholarship amount will be disbursed to the student’s designated Indian bank account after the required documents are submitted. These documents include relevant fee receipts, a college bonafide certificate, the previous year’s mark sheet, and bank proofs. According to the communicated payment cycle, Legrand’s implementation partner, Buddy4Study, will handle disbursement.
Can students of any graduation apply for this scholarship?
Apart from Engineering and Architecture, students from other undergraduate courses such as B.Com., B.Sc., and B.B.A. can apply for this scholarship.
Are students who passed class 12 in 2022 eligible for this scholarship?
No, this scholarship is extended to the students who have cleared their Class 12 in 2023-24 with a minimum of 70% marks in Class 10 and 12 examinations. Exceptions are given to differently-abled girl students and LGBTQ+ students.
