What is Bursary Scholarship Scheme?
The Government of Goa has a laudable objective of Universalizing Higher and Technical Education in the State, thereby raising the Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) to around 45 from the present 32.2. It is desired that Higher and Technical Education does not become the privilege of the selected few. With this sole objective in mind, Scheme for the grant of financial assistance towards the fees paid for various courses under Higher and Technical Education has been formulated. The student should have completed his Std. Xth and XIIth and graduation in case of post graduation students from an institution in Goa.

Objectives of Bursary Scheme
** Students pursuing College (Higher and Professional) Education in the State of Goa including post graduation shall be eligible to receive the benefits under the Bursary Scheme, provided they meet the eligibility criteria laid down in scheme.
** The actual grant would be calculated on the basis of the fees paid for each of the course/program and will be limited to the payment of fees and other charges given to the College/Institution The concerned student shall pay the requisite fees for the course that he/she pursues. The eligible quantum of fees shall be reimbursed to him through direct transfer to his Bank Account
Eligibility Criteria of Bursary Scheme
In order to be a beneficiary under the scheme, the student should met the following criteria
** The student should have completed his Std. Xth and XIIth and graduation in case of post graduation students from an institution in Goa.
** All the graduate and post graduate students, the annual income of both parent(s)/guardian taken together is less than Rupees three lakhs
** The maximum amount of grant shall be restricted to Rs. 40,000/- per annum.
** Only those cases where the total course/ /programme fees do not exceed Rs. 60,000/- per annum shall be considered under this scheme
How to Apply for Bursary Scheme?
Bursary Scheme Portal is a web-based application that provides comprehensive solution for the end-to-end scholarship process from submission of student application, verification and scrutiny, sanction and disbursal to the beneficiary for Bursary Scheme.
Login :
** New Applicant (student) have to complete Register->Profile Update -> Login cycle for on-boarding on the Bursary portal. Click on Apply Now Button to Register on the Bursary Portal
Student Registration :
Enter Mobile Number to Register.
** Click on Request OTP to get OTP on the entered mobile number
** Enter the OTP received on the mobile phone.
** Set the new password.
** Confirm new password
** Click on SUBMIT to complete the registration process.
Personal Profile :
** Fill in all details in the personal profile tab.
** Few details will be auto populated from the previous forms .
** Choose file and click Upload to upload the photograph. **Photograph should be in JPG format and photo size should be between 5-20kb.
** Click on Save as draft to proceed.
** After Application Submission, the student can view his application. There are two more cards on the student dashboard i.e. My Profile and My Application Status.
** After the Student has submitted the application,the application goes back to the institute for further processing.
** The Nodal Officer scrutinizes the student application.
** If the Nodal Officer feels that the application is defactive,he marks it back to the student along with the remarks.
** The student then has to login into his dashboard and correct the application.

Who is a Competent Authority to provide Minority Certificates?
Not applicable under Bursary Scheme.
Can students who study in Open Schools benefit from the Bursary Scheme?
No.
A student has completed his Xth, XIIth in Goa and is pursuing his Graduation in Goa only his parents stay in another state and the student provides the income certificate of the parents who are from another state. How are such cases handled?
They are considered.
Which Fee components are reimbursed under Bursary?
As of now Tuition, Lab, Library, Registration, Gymkhana, IT charges are being considered as the eligible fee components for entitlement as per the fee structure.
What documents should the student provide, if both father and mother are unemployed?
Unemployed parent Affidavit (as per GEDC format uploaded) to be sworn on ₹100 stamp paper (Need not be notorised) of the unemployed & parent income to be shown of working parent by submitting the supporting as mentioned in the Scheme (i.e. income proof whichever applicable).

Can Students avail Interest Fee Education as well as Bursary Scheme?
No.
