What is Punjab Scholarship Freeship Card?
Freeship Card is a card which is issued by the state government and this will help the students to get eligible for the scholarships which are presently available for students belonging to the low-income group of society. Only those who are residents of Punjab state are eligible to apply for this scholarship program. Aspirants from the SC/OBC communities are eligible for this scholarship. How to Apply for “Freeship” Card?
To Apply for Punjab Scholarship Freeship Card, you have to register first.
Fresh Student Registration
1) Click Student Registration in student Corner
2) Select Student Quota — Only Non-Management quota students are eligible for this scheme
3) Enter your Aadhaar Number, Date of Birth, First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, Gender. Aadhaar Authentication is done on basis of Name and Gender.
4) After successful Aadhaar Authentication remaining inputs are enabled to fill data.
5) Enter Father Name, Mother Name.
6) Select religion, Category, De-Notified tribe
7) Enter Mobile Number, Email, Annual Income (For SC 0 to 250000, OBC=0 to 150000)
8) Enter Students Correspondence and Permanent Address Details
9) Enter Captcha
10) Click save to complete the registration.
11) After successful registration student is allotted username and password as shown below and same is sent as text to the student’s mobile number
Apply for Freeship Card
1) For generating “Freeshipcard” student must login through the username and password provided as above
2) After login the below screen is presented to the student where he/she should Click on “Apply for Freeshipcard” button in student Section
3) In Upload Section on freeshipcard page following documents are required
i) Upload Photo (Scan Pdf size should not be more than 125kb)
ii) Upload Income, Caste, Pass Certificate (Scan Pdf size should not be more than 125kb)
4) Select Course, branch, year in Course presently studying
5) Select Course, branch, year in Course Last class studying
6) Select Course, branch, year in Course (last class previously studied)
7) Read Major Provision of the scheme carefully.
8) Select undertaking “yes or no”
9) Check “undertake to reimburse the amount to institute in which I will get admission within Seven days after receipt of scholarship”.
10) Fill “Freeship card form” and click on save button
11) Click send button for Approval to Tehsil welfare officer.
12) Now Freeship card is pending for Approval.
13) After approval from tehsil welfare officer student can download digitally signed freeship card
14) In Rejected freeshipcard case, student can update freeship card and send for approval again to tehsil welfare office
FAQ on Punjab Scholarship for SC and OBC
What should I do, if I do not find my institute name in the drop-down menu?
You should immediately approach the institute to contact with the Nodal Officer of the implementing department which in turn will register the institute and map with Sanctioning Authority then it will be accessible to you.
What if I forget my Applicant ID/ Password?
You can recover your Applicant ID/ Password by clicking on “Registered students: Recover your password” from the Registered Student Log-in box. You have to fill up details like First Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number and e-mail Id, as you have entered in the application while generating the initial password. Application will regenerate the Password and SMS would be sent to your contact Mobile Number.
Can I take print-out of my application at any stage?
Printout of application can be taken with “Barcode”, after locking and forwarding the application which is to be submitted at the Institute.
Whether I have to scan the certificates and upload in the system before forwarding the online application to the institute?
It is optional. The system has the facility of uploading the scanned copy of the Certificates, like Caste Certificate, Income Certificate, High School Certificate and Handicap Certificate (if any). However, the student has to submit self attested copies of requisite documents with print out/hard copy of application.
What is to be done after submitting the online application?
After locking and forwarding the application online to the institute, you should take a print out of the application (this would come with a barcode), sign it and submit it at the Institute with requisite documents as specified at Sr. No. 2.
How to check the status of my application?
You can check the status of your application anytime. After logging in, click on “ Edit-Lock-Print Application” . Then select “Track Status” option. This will provide you current / latest status of your Scholarship Application.
What should I do, if, by mistake, I select and forward my application to a wrong institute?
You can approach the concerned institute “Temporarily Reject” your application. On Temporary rejection, the application will be made available to you for editing purpose. You can make correct selection of Institute. Then select the Course and Branch. Lock the application, and forward the application to your Institute.
What should I do, if, by mistake, I select wrong Category and apply for wrong Scheme ?
You can make fresh registration, by entering the correct category and apply for scholarship under that Scheme. Institute is to be informed about the error, so that there will be a Permanent rejection of your wrong application.
How can I apply for scholarship, if I am a student of Institute, located outside Punjab?
You should send the application form manually to Director, Department of Welfare of SC and OBC, Punjab.
