MSECT:
MSECT is a Bangalore based non-profit organization working constantly towards the cause of social Service. We are committed to delivering a brighter future for the next generation. We have selected a novel method of fulfilling our social commitment. The Trust has been serving Daily Hot Mid-Day Meals for the past 10 years (and celebrated her 10″ anniversary in September 2010) to around 50,000 school children of 1st to10th Std. studying in 182 Govt. and aided Kannada, Urdu, Tamil, Telugu and English medium schools.

Such services are being rendered in the schools situated in the ranges South-2,South-4 and North-3 in association with the State and Central Governments. Mid-Day Meals is being served since the year 2000.MSECT builds upon the capacity of the future generation to cultivate empowered society and to create the conditions for them to concentrate on their studies.

In addition, the Trust has been serving Hot Mid-Day Meals to 10 unaided (private) Kannada, Urdu and English schools at the Trust’s cost and in association with volunteer donors and well wishers. The Hot Mid-Day Meals being served to these private schools including rice, labour and transportation costs Rs. 4.50 per child per day. The Trust has installed a sophisticated Rice Cleaning Unit and Modernized Kitchen Centre to serve hygienic food.

MSECT’s strategy centres on the idea that students are a particularly powerful target population in the pursuit of a society that is literate and responsible to the nation. Extensive research has shown that most of the school dropouts happen in the Lower strata of the society because of economical reasons. It is exactly in this context that we decided to serve healthy and hygienic food these children.

We feel that a only healthy child can move up in the ladder of education and prosper. A healthy citizen is not a luxury to the society but a necessity. The early years in education are extremely important and what we are doing is an effort in this direction of lessening the burden from the parent’s shoulders to some extent. Now the parents can send their children to school without having to worry about their children’s nourishment.
