NCPA CITI Scholarship For Indian Music

NCPA invites applications for CITI Scholarship For Indian Music 2020-21. The NCPA offers scholarships to talented young musicians through our special Scholarship Scheme.

Every year, the NCPA offers the NCPA – CITI Scholarship for Indian Music, designed to support the best emerging talent in Hindustani vocal music.

The NCPA also provides financial support to three indigent senior musicians every year through our Guru Support Scheme. The NCPA also supports the traditional Guru-Shishaya tradition of imparting musical education. The NCPA has launched a scheme in which gurus receive financial support to train worthy disciples.

Who Can Apply?

1. Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply
2. Professional musicians including those with ‘A’ grade from All India Radio are not eligible to apply
3. Students who are beneficiaries of other scholarship/grant in the field of music during April 2019-20, are not eligible to apply

4. Age Limit :
** For Khayal / Tabla / Pakhawaj – 18 to 30 years of age (as of March 1, 2020)
** For Dhrupad – 18 to 35 years of age (as of March 2020)

How to Apply?

Those interested must send in your application (bio-data on music education) via mail to ncpascholarships [AT] gmail.com or in an envelope marked ‘Citi – NCPA Scholarship for Young Musicians (Indian Music)’ to the National Centre for the Performing Arts, Nariman Point, Mumbai 400021 on or before December 31, 2019.

Note :
The application must contain details regarding the individual’s name, date of birth, address, contact number/alternate contact number, professional qualification, email ID, music teachers/gurus, number of years of total training and details of achievements / prizes / scholarships and performances, amongst other noteworthy details.

Selection Process

The shortlisted candidates will be informed via email or telephone. They will be required to appear for an audition at the NCPA, Mumbai, in February 2020. The decision of the NCPA Selection Committee will be final.

Scholarship Amount

The value of the scholarship is Rs. 7,500/- per month for one year (April 2020 to March 2021).
