SERB Ramanujan Fellowships
Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) invites applications for Ramanujan Fellowships for the year 2018.

Ramanujan Fellowship are only for those candidates who are doing Post Doctoral abroad and not for the people who already have permanent position in a scientific organization in India.
Who Can Apply?
** Applicant must be outstanding engineers and scientists and must be aged below 55 years.
** Hold a higher degree i.e., Ph.D. in Science or Engineering, Masters in Engineering or Technology/MD in Medicine, etc or equivalent and have requisite professional experience.
How to Apply?
Just follow the below steps to apply for the Ramanujan Fellowships 2018.
Steps :
Step 1 : An eligible candidate can submit the Ramanujan Fellowship application in the prescribed format and then contact an Institute to host the Ramanujan Fellowship. The application should be forwarded by the Head of the host Institute.

Fellowship Amount
** The fellowship will be of five years, and can not be extended
** A fellowship amount of INR 85,000 per month.
** A research grant of INR 7 lakh per annum for conferences and other expenses.

No, Ramanujan Fellowship is meant for reverse brain drain i.e. inviting brilliant Indian scientists and engineers who want to return to India from abroad to take up scientific positions in India.
4. Ramanujan Fellow has not received grant for subsequent years?
Grant for subsequent year would be released based on the scientific review of the work done, submission of SE & UC and annual progress report.
5. Which are the institutes and universities where the Ramanujan Fellow can work?
The Ramanujan Fellows could work in any of the scientific institutions and universities in the country and they would be eligible for receiving regular research grants through the extramural funding schemes of various S&T agencies of the Government of India.
6. What is the last date of acceptance of the application?
The applications for the Ramanujan Fellowship are accepted throughout the year and there is no last date of acceptance of the application.
