Madhya Pradesh Department of Backward Classes & Minorities invites online applications for Merit cum Means Scholarship for the academic year 2018-19.

The objective of the Scheme is to provide financial assistance to the poor and meritorious students belonging to minority communities to enable them to pursue professional and technical courses.
Who Can Apply?
** Students must be a citizen of India and domicile of Madhya Pradesh.
** Students who get admission in technical/professional courses without taking any competitive examination will also be eligible for scholarship.
** Students should have not less than 50% marks at higher secondary/graduation level.
** The annual income of the beneficiary/parent or guardian of beneficiary should not exceed Rs.2.50 lakh from all sources.
How to Apply?
The scheme is apply through National Scholarship Portal (NSP). Just follow the below steps to apply for the Merit cum Means Scholarship 2018-19.

Step 1 : Go to the official Website of National Scholarship Portal and Click on New Registration button
Step 2 : Fill the registration form with the required details. Click on the Check boxes of Aadhar consent, Bank Account and Application form. After entering all required details Click on the Register button.
Step 3 : Student registration ID will be displayed. (Note down the Student Registration ID number for further reference and enquiries. Click on “Continue” button, it will take you to the Login Page.
Step 4 : The login id and password to log into NSP portal will be your Application Id and DOB respectively.
Step 5 : After Login Student will get OTP of 5 digits on Registered Mobile Number. Confirm OTP will take you to Change Password Page and Change your password as per instruction in the same page.
Step 6 : Click ‘’Apply’’ button and enter below details

Step 7 : After entering above details click on “Save & Continue” to Switch on to next Page. Applicant is directed to see the next page for “Contact Details & Scheme Details”
** Enter your contact details.
** Based on eligibility criteria of the student, schemes will be displayed.
** Select “Merit cum Means Scholarship For Minority Students” for College & University Students
Step 8 : Click on Final Submit. Take a print on Clicking print Button for further reference and as an Acknowledgement.
Documents Required
The list of documents to be scanned & uploaded for both Fresh and Renewal Scholarships as under
a) Student Photo. (Mandatory)
b) Institution Verification Form. (Mandatory)
c) Self declaration of Income Certificate by the student. (Mandatory)
d) Self declaration of community by the student. (Mandatory)
e) In case of Fresh – Self Attested Certificate of ‘Previous Academic Mark sheet’ as filled in Form. (Mandatory)
f) In case of Renewal – Self-Attested Certificate of Previous Year Mark sheet as filled in the Form. (Mandatory)
g) Fee Receipt of current course year. (Mandatory)
h) Proof of Bank Account in the name of student. (Mandatory)
i) Aadhaar Card (optional)
j) Residential Certificate. (Mandatory)
Rate Of Scholarship
The rate of scholarship will be as under

FAQs
1. How does a student come to know, whether he has been awarded scholarship or not?
The respective State/UTs Government should be approached for any specific information in this regard. Once scholarships are sanctioned, the States/UTs are required to plan the details of the selected students in the website of State Government/department concerned.
2. Is there any earmarking for girl students?
30% scholarship has been earmarked for girls of each minority community in a state.
3. How do I know my status of application, sanction/release of scholarships?
The States/UTs are required to the detailed list of plan and scholarships sanctioned in the website of the department dealing with minority welfare/this scholarship scheme in the States/UTs.
4. How do I furnish certificate that I belong to minority community?
A Self declaration by the student an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper that he/she belongs to a particular minority community notified under section 2(c) of NCM Act, 1922 is required to be submitted alongwith the affidavit.
5. How many scholarships can a family avail ?
Not more than two children in a family can avail scholarship under this scheme.
6. What should I do if I forget my Application ID?
The process of re-collection of the Temporary/Permanent id is given as below
“Student login->Forgot Registration Details?”then enter the basic fields accordingly and click on the button “Get Registration details””.
