Is there any limit to the number of applications that can come from a single university or department?
None.
Is the $10,000 given to the student or to the university?
The student.
When is the Last Date for letters of recommendation?
To be completed your application must include all of your letters by November 3, 2017, 5pm Pacific Time. It is up to you to followup with your letter writers to confirm that they have submitted them on time.
Do transcripts need to be official transcripts signed by the registrar?
Transcripts that are directly available are fine.
What instructions will you send my letter writers?
In your recommendation letter, please answer the following questions.
How long have you known the applicant and how did you meet?
Can you rank the applicant as belonging to the top 5, 10, or 20% of computer science undergraduates?
Please assess the applicants :
** intellectual and analytic strength,
** technical skills,
** ability to think creatively,
** ambition and initiative,
** stamina and independence,
** and ability to work as part of a team.
Do you have a minimum grade requirement?
No. However, grades are a consideration in the selection process. Students with strong academic records are more likely to win.
Can masters students apply?
No. The scholarship is intended for undergraduate students.
Can high school students apply?
No. The scholarship is intended for undergraduate students.
Are art and design students eligible?
No. This scholarship is intended for students studying computer science, computer engineering, or related technical fields.
What does ‘Grade Point Average’ mean?
Grade Point Average (GPA) is the average of all grades received in your current program. In the United States grades are typically on a 4.0 scale. If your school uses a different system, please write the average, if possible. If you are in your first year of university, please write your high-school grade point average.
I won the award last year. Can I apply again?
Previous award winners are not eligible. Students who received an honorable mention award are eligible to apply again.
Can I submit materials (transcripts, essays, letters of reference) in a language other than English?
No. All materials must be in English.
Can I ask an Adobe employee that I’ve interned with for a reference letter?
